Patterson-UTI renews its offices with Planar Led visualization
In the redesign of the third floor, four curved LED video walls have been installed Planar CarbonLight CLI series and three UltraRes L series all-in-one solutions from 109 inches.
Founded in 1978 and based in Houston, Texas, Patterson-UTI is a provider of drilling and completion services for the oil and natural gas industry.. Serves both the US and international markets, and offers contract drilling services, well completion, directional drilling and pressure pumping services.
As part of the renovation of its headquarters, Patterson-UTI partnered with architecture firm Inventory to redesign the third floor of your corporate office and turn it into a modern environment. The result is a high-tech work center and control space that also functions as immersive showroom of the brand for visiting customers.
The finishing touch to the renovation is the Planar Led screens, installed by technology solutions provider DataVox. Display technologies include four videowalls Led curvos Planar CarbonLight serie CLI, with a distance between pixels of 1,3 mm. Two are from 4,5 meters wide by 1,4 meters high and two meters 3,6 meters wide by 1,4 meters high. One of the smaller panels is designed with a convex curve, while the remaining three are concave.
It also has three Planar all-in-one Led screens UltraRes L series 109 inches, with Full HD resolution, of 2,4 meters wide by 1,4 meters high.
A visual brand journey
Designed to impress and inform, Planar display technologies bring Patterson-UTI capabilities to life during tours of renovated offices. Architectural lighting marks the route and allows visitors to interact with content and messages on Led screen solutions.
“During the design phase, the customer described his desire for a Disneyland experience, so infusing that similarity and emotion into the space was a priority”, explains Jonathan Mixon, Inventure designer .
Throughout the redesigned plant, Inventure has incorporated architectural elements that reflect the company's brand identity. “The angled walls were designed to exactly match the angle of their logo”, Mixon comments.. “We also took advantage of the duality between the angular design and the circular elements, and that's where the concave and convex curves of the video wall came into play. During guided tours, concave video walls act as meeting points, offering immersive experiences”.
Collaborative work
When guided tours are not carried out, the combination of Planar solutions plays an important role in the daily office environment.
Patterson-UTI initially specified LCD video displays in the new workspace, but this changed after visiting the office DataVox. “We show you our own Led video screen, which is from Planar”, states Matthew Ferguson, audiovisual design engineer at DataVox. “Seeing capabilities up close helped them visualize what was possible”.
Planar CarbonLight CLI series curved Led video displays are integrated into multi-purpose workspaces, They also serve as control centers to monitor drilling operations in real time on high resolution screens. With clear data visibility, Led video screens are designed to support Patterson-UTI staff, improving situational awareness and operational insight.
From nearby workstations, Team members can share data and content with screens, that offer the flexibility to present information in various screen configurations. “That was a determining factor in his selection”, says Ferguson. “They wanted to be able to display multiple sources simultaneously”.
Besides, Two Planar CarbonLight CLI series LED video walls were installed in the modular walls Dirtt, which required close coordination between Planar, Dirt and a third-party vendor that provided mounting structures customized for video walls.
One of the Planar UltraRes L-series all-in-one Led displays has been installed in the corporate boardroom of Patterson-UTI, while the other two have joined the collaboration areas. According to Ferguson, They are mainly used for presentations, and are taking advantage of built-in features such as multi-source display, supporting up to four fonts.
Planar UltraRes L-series displays also enable in-room collaboration using a interactive touch system supporting multiple simultaneous users. “Patterson-UTI uses the touch functionality of the screen in combination with ClickShare, “a wireless presentation tool that simplifies content sharing and supports basic annotations and touchback”, explains Ferguson.
