Samsung defines a comprehensive LED display solution at the Energizer Park stadium
The headquarters of the American football team St. Louis City SC has installed more than two hundred high-definition LED screens Samsung, with 360º perimeter equipment that surrounds the field, video markers, video wall and digital signage systems in different formats.
St. Louis City SC, one of the few majority-female ownership groups in American professional sports, is the team number 28 in the country's MLS league and plays in the soccer stadium Energizer Park, con ability to 22.500 spectators.
Built by STL Made, Energizer Park is part of a new world-class stadium district, which includes a training center, the team's official store and headquarters, all within the same urban campus, located in the city center of St. Louis in order to drive growth and revitalization of the area.
Those responsible for the stadium began a project to boost fan experience with an avant-garde technological approach, with a solution that would also eliminate the usual frustrations of match days, like the long lines at food stalls and slow access to the venue.
Digital signage was key to achieving this vision. The team was looking for a partner who could design and integrate display solutions that keep fans connected, They will eliminate bottlenecks and contribute to creating a comfortable and fluid environment that will involve them from their arrival until the end of the match.
“The problem we have in football is achieving the balance between supply and demand in each match.. In collaboration with the stadium's technological team, Samsung developed a comprehensive visual solution, composed of more than two hundred high definition LED screens installed throughout the premises, which include 360º perimeter equipment that surround the field, video markers, video wall and digital signage systems in different formats.
The Energizer Park sports complex project has not only included the stadium itself, but also the team headquarters, the official store and a training center, all integrated into the same visual ecosystem.
“The partners had to understand our vision of 'connected city'’. That's why, for us, Working with the best was really important.. We chose Samsung for its ability to adapt to the growth of the district and was, definitely, the best option in screens -says Sebek-. Samsung also contributed to improve the experience premium of the Ultra Club, the largest interior space in the stadium, by installing two large LED screens, of 6 meters each, which are also used for meetings and events held there.
Besides, in the most exclusive suite of the stadium, called Pitch Club, an impressive screen 6,7 meters offers entertainment before, during and after the game. “Digital signage allows us to carry out a wide range of operations, from changing sponsor messages to internal messaging”, duck David Vedder, responsible for the live experience of the St. Louis City SC.
The entire venue, including hallways, has digital screens with live streaming of the match at strategic points, just as it happens with the directional signage, with rotating graphics and stadium maps.
“From the digital menus that appear in line to order food and the signage that guides you to the stadium, to the giant screens at field level and the huge LEDs that show instant replays, Samsung ensures you're always connected to the action”, assures Tana Ashton, director of sports and live entertainment events in the United States of this manufacturer.
Instead of using typical stadium lighting to achieve a fan effect, Vedder's team turns off the floodlights and turns on the high-contrast video screens with colored LEDs for a synchronized visual light show.
Through what this person in charge calls the “party button” function, Fans are advised that the pre-match show is about to begin. Combining music from the stadium audio system with creative visual effects on giant screens and LED technology screens the team presentation video is projected, displayed throughout the visual network.
