University of Richmond renovates Robins Center with Daktronics display system
Daktronics has been selected by the University of Richmond to manufacture and install four corner LED screens, a hanging central ribbon and scorer's tables at the Robins Center, Spider Athletics headquarters.
John P. Hardt, vice president and director of athletics, on the Spiders website, points out that “in this new era of intercollegiate athletics, It remains a priority for Spider Athletics to improve our facilities to enhance the fan and student-athlete experience.”.
In total four video screens have been installed to enhance the fan experience at Robins Center. Hay one in each corner, each of them measures 4,7 meters high by 10 meters wide and has a pixel separation of 3,9 millimeters to deliver crisp, clear images to fans from any seat.
Each screen is capable of divide content into variable zones, allowing each screen to display one large image or be divided into multiple content zones. This includes any combination of live video, instant replays, Up-to-the-minute statistics and match information, graphics and animations, and messages from sponsors.

Hanging over the center of the field, a ribbon the 1 meter high and 20 meters of circumference. About each entrance to the corner seating area of the stadium, Four long, narrow screens have been deployed that measure 76 centimeters high by 5 feet wide. These displays have a pixel spacing of 3,9 millimeters and offer graphics and additional information about the match, complementing the corner screens.
Along the sides of the field, have been installed 11 scorers tables with LED screens to offer even more graphics and statistics and complete the engaging fan experience. Each screen measures 76 cm high by almost 3 meters wide and has a pixel spacing of 3,9 millimeters. They can be aligned in any grouping or configuration to meet the needs of the university for any event.
Daktronics Creative Services will also produce and deliver a digital content package to bring the Spiders' new LED screens to life at the Robins Center.
