Hive's Beeblade multimedia engines will feature Dante connectivity as standard
The manufacturer of compact multimedia servers Hive will incorporate Dante audio over IP network to its Beeblade multimedia engines, which will further strengthen the company's ecosystem for synchronized and networked audiovisual distribution.
New integration allows Hive players Stream high-quality multichannel audio directly over Ethernet standard, eliminating the need for complex cabling or external routing hardware. Hive's implementation of Dante has a custom Hive-Dante controller and made to measure, Designed and built in-house for perfect performance and reliability. Unlike third party plugins, integration requires no configuration, license or adjustment. All Beeblade units ship with Dante pre-installed and ready to use, Fully integrated into the Hive software platform.
Ciaran Abrams, Lead Software Developer at Hive, “Dante allows our clients to treat audio as if it were video, like another broadcast on the network. By creating our own custom controller, we have made it easier to use. No configuration required: you just have to connect it, Select Dante in the Hive app and you can now stream up to 16 High-quality audio channels over the network”.
With support for up to sixteen output channels per device, integration offers creators and integrators a precise control over multi-layered soundscapes for immersive experiences, large-scale exhibitions and installations. Each channel can be routed independently to networked speakers, enabling spatial and dynamic audio design without the complexity of traditional signal distribution.
Distributed Workflow
Dave Green, Hive CTO, states that “This integration marks another important step in our mission to deliver a comprehensive, distributed media server platform., where the playback hardware is at the end. Adding Dante Audio over IP to the Beeblade Family, We offer creators and integrators even more power and flexibility, all within a compact and scalable system”.
Joshua Rush, marketing director of Audinate, recognizes that “the synergy between Hive and Dante is evident. Our mission has always been to make audio networking simple, scalable and interoperable. Native Dante integration in Hive extends that simplicity to media playback and synchronization, enabling a new generation of fully networked audiovisual experiences”.
The Hive-Dante integration reflects the same distributed workflow methodology that underpins the Hive media control architecture, that works entirely over an IP network for unified communication between devices. This consistency allows users to manage the video, lighting and now also audio from a single connected environment.
Now that the audio, Video and lighting can be controlled via IP, Hive continues blurring the boundaries between disciplines in fixed and live audiovisual environments. From immersive artistic spaces and museums to theme parks and venues with projection mapping, update allows creators to design richer, more responsive experiences with fewer cables, devices and points of failure.
