Illuminated Productions apoya el concierto ‘Christmas for the Cause’ with production under Obsidian control
The sixth annual 'Christmas for the Cause' benefit concert, produced by Illuminated Productions at Eric Thompson's Barn in Carrollton, Georgia (EU), had the technology Obsidian Control Systems distributed by Elation.
The event, sold-out event with proceeds going to families in the Carroll County community experiencing hardships during the holidays, featured five bands and a performance by Lonestar. Illuminated Productions (IP), a Carrollton company offering full audio production services, video and lighting, was the platinum partner of the event, in addition to providing all audiovisual equipment and the stage.
Christmas for the Cause It started six years ago as a popular initiative among friends and has since become a non-profit organization that delivers gifts, meals and “christmas miracles” to local families in need. As the event has expanded in recent years, The need to have a professional audiovisual company has become evident..
To Chris Dunson, president and CEO of IP, who had previously worked with Christmas for the Cause, the event is special: “There are many children in our county who may not have Christmas through no fault of their own.. "I wanted to make sure that at IP we could push the goal of helping as many children as possible with this event.", stated, adding that they were lucky to be able to return a third of the production cost to the community”.
IP was responsible for building the production infrastructure, including stage design, logistics, artist advances and much more, and can call on several lighting directors when a show demands something out of the ordinary.
“with this event, There was no question who I wanted to bring in to design and implement the vision we had for the stage.”, afirma dunson. “Daniel Boerner has been a great asset to IP for years, designing lighting and running multiple programs over the years. The knowledge, Daniel's vision and calm attitude make him the first choice in high-stress situations”.
Boerner was the lighting designer and programmer of the hall's lighting package, programming and running the show on a console Obsidian Control Systems NX4, with hardware support red Netron: two outdoor network switches Netron NS8 IP with classification 66 and a walkway Netron EN6 IP Art-Net/sACN a DMX.
“The NX4 and ONYX platform was ideal for this type of event due to its ability to quickly launch a punt/busking file using DyLOS”, Boerner points out.. “By preprogramming presets such as color, the position, beam and intensity, I was able to use DyLOS mapping to create unique effects on the fly. It has changed my workflow for the better.. At a festival type event like this, there is not much time, and ONYX makes it easier”.
Speed and flexibility
With five full bands on the bill and Lonestar as the headliner, flexibility and speed were essential. Boerner handled lighting for all of the opening acts and worked with Lonestar's tour lighting director to integrate his show into existing equipment.. “Daniel did a fantastic job directing the lighting for all the support bands and helping Lonestar's lighting director integrate our existing equipment”, Dunson points out.
Despite the complexity of the show, The performance went smoothly from start to finish.. Boerner noted that the visiting lighting director was impressed with Obsidian Control Systems' workflow and that there were no technical hiccups throughout the night..
