Moment Factory expands its 'Aura' experience’ with a permanent facility in San Francisco
‘Aura Grace Cathedral’, has become the third immersive experience in this series of Moment Factory and in the first permanent installation of the same in the United States, specifically in San Francisco, to transform this Gothic building into a dynamic canvas of light, sound and projection.
Developed by Canadian creative studio Moment Factory, known for combining cultural storytelling with the latest visual technology, Aura Grace Cathedral supposes the first creation of this immersive show in the United States, in which visitors are invited to rediscover with light, sound and projection one of the best-known monuments in San Francisco.
Third Aura experience, and the first permanent installation from this series of immersive creations from the company, co-presented by Fever, transforms the Gothic architecture of this cathedral into a multi-sensory music and movement show in harmony.
This evening multimedia experience is inspired by the spirit of openness and diversity of San Francisco and the natural beauty of California, that reinvents stained glass, the imposing arches and cultural symbols of the cathedral through orchestral music, videomapping and a luminous narrative.
This first release of Aura in the United States also marks a milestone in the series with the development of a interactive web application, which allows attendees discover history and architecture from Grace Cathedral, access the real time translation and take a selfie personalized with AI that prolongs the journey and participation in a creative way.
The San Francisco installation follows the successful editions of Aura in the Notre-Dame Basilica from Montreal (Canada) and that of Sainte-Chapelle from Paris. Besides, Moment Factory has just opened another show this month at the church of Saint-Roch in Quebec, that continues this series for transform heritage spaces into immersive artistic experiences that merge architecture, light and sound.
