Prolyte, Stagemaker and Altimate star in the rigging display at the Goya Awards gala
The Auditori Fòrum of the CCIB in Barcelona was completely transformed on the last night of February to host the 40th Goya Awards for Spanish cinema.. Lighting & Rigging Rental featured brands distributed by Earpro&EES as Prolyte, Stagemaker y Altimate for rigging deployment.
The assembly, executed by the venue's rigging team, completely transformed the auditorium to give shape to a gala marked by its technical complexity and visual impact. The CCIB, managed by Fira de Barcelona, reinforced its usual infrastructure for large events with an unprecedented technical deployment. The Forum Auditorium, with capacity for more than 3.000 spectators and one of the largest stages in Europe (30 × 14 × 14 metros), was the subject of a comprehensive reconfiguration to adapt to the demands of the gala. The redesign of the space allowed the integration of a large format scenery, an outstanding visual proposal and a complex fastening system for numerous suspended elements.
In a highly technically demanding environment, the company Lighting & Rigging Rental (Lightrigg) was in charge of supplying the rigging system that served as the structural basis of the assembly. The goal: guarantee a precise operation, safe and flexible for all scenic and audiovisual elements involved in the production. The structure was supported by equipment from brands distributed by Earpro&EES like the truss Prolyte H40V, which formed the basis for the large suspended elements. To this system were added Stagemaker SL10 engines, SL5 and SR1, responsible for the movement and positioning of the different scenic components during the gala.
Motorization and control
The control of the complex was carried out through systems Altimate MotionRoad and MotionPad controllers, that allowed operations to be monitored and coordinated centrally. This combination of structure, motorization and control made it easy to execute each movement with precision and fluidity, maintaining at all times the safety and reliability standards necessary in large-format television production.
Although invisible to the public, The rigging system deployed at the Goya Awards demonstrates the essential role that scenic engineering plays in large productions. This technical support allowed the visual creativity of the gala to materialize without setbacks., guaranteeing both the experience of the audience present and the quality of the television broadcast.
