This old solution, consider the institution itself, It was “neither practical nor visually attractive.”. In collaboration with DooH Concept, Metal construction Patric Schmidt y LE-Eventtechnik, the Staatstheater team opted for a LED solution fully digital and centrally managed, allowing for quick and easy content updates: a screen Philips Urban LED of the serie 7000 High brightness with a pixel pitch of 3,9 mm, which forms a billboard of 2 x 6 metros located on the facade of the emblematic building.
A complex installation and a project that is already giving results
Screen installation at the Saarländisches Staatstheater, protected building, raised several challenges. A key requirement was to design a self-supporting substructure that could be safely mounted on the theater façade without causing any damage. Besides, since the Tblisser Platz, Located right in front of the main entrance, hosts large festival stages throughout the summer, heavy machinery could not be counted on.
As a result, The entire installation had to be completed within a tight deadline of ten days. The substructure was installed using a mobile crane on the first day, and the LED screen was completely finished on the tenth day, just in time for the new theater season, which started the next day.
Already underway, the screen LED Philips Urban offers a communication platform “striking and effective”. With brightness adjusted to ambient light, the content remains visible in different meteorological conditions.
The screens offer a combination of static images, animated trailers and video content, promoting upcoming performances, capturing the attention of pedestrians and visitors who access the city's pedestrian zone without disturbing traffic or disturbing local residents. Michael Schultz, artistic director of Saarland State Theater, values your commitment to this digital window very positively: “The new digital daily advertising screen from Philips allows us to give even more visibility to the extensive programming of the Saar State Theater, reaching visitors directly. In the new season 2025/2026, there has been a significant increase in theater attendance compared to the previous season, since the installation of our new LED screen”.
