Harry the Hirer deploy 80 units of the new moving light system Robe iForte at a recent telecommunications company leadership conference Telstra, which took place in the Grand Pavilion of the Melbourne Showgrounds.

The Australian services company was commissioned to illuminate a large conference area with capacity for about 3000 personas, which should turn in a space for a cocktail with live music. In addition, The lighting system had to adapt to the different areas of the Tesla event, which included an area of socialization y networking.

Harry the Hirer, by the hand of Brad Johnson, production director, decided to bet on the deployment of iFortes located along 11 trusses. Robe equipment made it possible to illuminate the speakers during the day and at artists at night; project gobos on the covers to create atmosphere, y evoke different atmospheres in rest areas.

Johnson was in charge of coordinating the more than 100 team members and supervise all technical departments: lightning, video, audio and scenery. He had the close collaboration of LD Oliver, senior lighting technician, that he was “very excited” to use the iFortes for the first time in one of his designs: “The spotlights are so adaptable and powerful that they can be used to illuminate almost anything.”, so they are perfect for this scenario!! Besides, They match and work well with much of our current stock, both with lights from Robe and other brands”

iFortes: a versatile solution for conferences and shows

He iForte offered to the leadership conference of Telstra a wide range of possibilities: from covering the entire scenery until illuminate faces o add light to bounce throughout the premises. When Oliver started working on the lighting scheme two months before the show, I knew that these Robe solutions would be part of the inventory and that I could use them, so he used them as backbone of a designimaginative, vibrant and practical”. Concretely, he was impressed by zoom and how the iFortes beams crossed the daylight and fog to project gobos and textures on the roof of the tent.

Robe Iforte Telstra Melbourne 3The event of Telstra required a hybrid approach to illuminate different areas. Oliver maximized the effects and speed of 40 MegaPoints Robe mounted on the beams of the main room, y “enjoyed” especially illuminating “Phonehenge”, a series of great scenic monoliths arranged in a circle that occupied the heart of the meeting area.

Thanks to zoom and the shutters of the iForte, the Harry the Hirer team was able to illuminate the elements of the decoration in a clear and precise way from devices located in the beams around the perimeter of the room, some of which required ranges up to 40 metros: “It was fantastic to be able to uniform, combine and complement lighting on all sides with a single set of fixtures.”, Oliver commented..

Stage lighting was provided by Adam Leelasorn, who also used the iFortes for the first time. The technician used these solutions as spotlights on stage, to generate breaking effects during presentations, and in the form of projections on the roof with the Telstra corporate colors.

Taking stock of the project, Johnson states that the iFortes “worked wonderfully” throughout the entire day: “They are light, versatile, very versatile and resistant equipment, ideal for much of our convention work, fairs and events… as well as for artist tours and concerts”.
