These days New York is celebrating the National Retail Federation Conference fair dedicated to retail. in it, HP is exposing its products in this market, ranging from POS, digital signage, self service solutions, managed print services, cloud based printing, to mobile solutions.

This is the main idea that HP is exhibiting during the largest retail fair in the world, la National Retail Federation Conference (NRF), that is taking place in New York. HP envisions a future in which digital continues to become increasingly integrated into the physical world of the retail sector., and vice versa.

Kobi Elbaz, director of Client Solutions at HP PSG in EMEA, has pointed out “it is, definitely, of a transformation that is taking place in the retail industry in terms of the incorporation of technology within physical stores. One of the trends of 2012 is about how retailers are increasingly offering interactive digital experiences in the store, from touch digital signage, to initiatives to promote loyalty through barcodes on smartphones”.

“Retailers are turning their stores into more attractive and interactive environments for shoppers thanks to technologies such as HP monitors and POS terminals”, Elbaz continues. “Customers now expect much more from the purchasing experience and, for it, Retailers are actively encouraging customers to stay in the store longer. That's why HP is showing technologies that encourage customers to be in the store – the best retailers already know that 'dwell time equals purchase time.'”.

Touch technology
During the contest, HP is showing updated solutions from its extensive portfolio dedicated to the retail sector, including the HP LD4730 and HP LD4730G micro bezel video walls from 47 inches. Both touch displays include the HP DreamColor and the LD4730G has the resistant Corning Gorilla Glass, ideal for high traffic adjustments. Displays use an exclusive HP video input – simplified video over ethernet (FLY) – to manage and implement the digital signage network.

The HP VantagePoint is also on display in New York, a system that incorporates a multi-touch interface on a large screen surface that has a diagonal of 132 inches. This description defines multiple scenarios, from public displays for citizen interaction to interactive presentations in large companies, in which it would offer the speaker a very fresh way of manipulating his presentation.
