An advanced artificial vision system guarantees the inspection of containers using IP cameras
In order to ensure quality control 100% of your products, Superfos, one of the largest European manufacturers of injection molded plastic packaging, has partnered with TriVision to implement a vision inspection system on its production lines for packaging butter and other dairy products.
Packaging is a fundamental part of the food industry. The quality of packaging is especially important for the preservation of perishable products and for the protection of consumer health and safety.. Besides, the containers that contain food products include information relevant to the consumer, but also for the supply chain and retailers, what are barcodes like?, expiration codes and previous consumption, inter alia.
The TriVision Packaging Inspector is a high-end vision inspection system specially designed for the packaging industry.. It can detect defects such as burrs in plastic containers and inspect labels and prints.. The TriVision Packaging Inspector is a modular system and can be adapted to different products and tasks. The system includes various inspection stages guaranteeing the 100% of production.
FireWire cameras
At the Superfos plastic packaging factory, TriVision have installed 53 cameras Allied Vision Technologies to inspect different products and production lines. For inspection of rectangular butter jars, The TriVision uses two Stingray F cameras-046B positioned under the conveyor belt, that check the bottom surface, looking for defects in the material. Simultaneously a Stingray F-201B inspects the print, the position of the label and barcode. The lids used to close the container are inspected, with Stingray F-201C color cameras, on different production lines.
Stingray industrial cameras are highly flexible and combine the IEEE 1394b interface with an advanced system of image optimization functions (AVT Smart Features).
Another type of inspection is carried out on round cream containers., using a combination of Stingray F-146B and Marlin F-145C cameras. F-146B Stingrays inspect the surface of the container, that passes through the conveyor belt, while cameras Marlin F-145C, located on the sides, verify the presence of labels and barcodes.
The lids of round containers are monitored with Guppy F-146B ultra-compact FireWire cameras from 1.4 resolution megapixels.
