AXIS Q87-E, new dual network camera for critical installations
Axis Communications, IT company offering network video solutions for professional installations, has introduced the new AXIS Q87-E camera series, dual thermal/HDTV cameras allowing detection, recognition and identification of people, animals and objects in applications that require video surveillance 24 hours of the day, such as critical infrastructure, urban surveillance, etc.
Axis has launched a series of outdoor-ready dual IP cameras designed for critical infrastructure. These cameras offer the flexibility of pan and tilt movement and simultaneous thermal and visual camera video streams., and allow detection, recognition and identification from a single unit even in complex lighting conditions and complete darkness. By combining thermal and visual images, these cameras represent a very powerful video surveillance solution that makes them ideal for monitoring. 24/7 of, For example, restricted areas, public areas, buildings and/or ports.
Eloína Weijl, Marketing Manager of Axis Communications Iberia, explained that “the new dual PTZ cameras combine a thermal camera and an HDTV camera in the same housing prepared to operate outdoors.”. They are born in response to critical video surveillance scenarios that require monitoring. 24 hours of restricted access areas. We believe that this new series of AXIS Q87-E IP cameras represents a highly advanced video surveillance solution that perfectly synchronizes pan and tilt movements.. Offers exceptional detection capabilities, recognition and identification of objects and people even in low lighting or adverse weather conditions.”.
An AXIS Q87-E network camera is composed of a thermal camera and an HDTV camera mounted on a positioning motor that allows the entire unit to move horizontally and vertically., and they are connected to the network using an Ethernet cable. AXIS Q87-E Series consists of two models: AXIS Q8721-E featuring a 1080i HDTV camera with optical zoom 10 magnification and autofocus, and a thermal camera with 384 resolution×288. AXIS Q8722-E offers the same HDTV camera but incorporates a thermal camera with VGA resolution (640×480). The thermal camera can achieve greater detection accuracy than the HDTV camera in total darkness or under adverse weather conditions.. High-definition camera images allow for better identification possibilities. At night the HDTV camera benefits from optional IR illuminators that cover a range of 100 metros.
Video surveillance of critical areas
Paulo Silva, Sales engineer at Axis Communications Iberia, has pointed out: “AXIS Q87-E offers the best of both worlds for critical area video surveillance: thermal technology to detect objects with high quality and clarity to identify if a person or vehicle has authorized access. Synchronized horizontal and vertical movement will help staff on duty, military or security forces to detect and recognize, regardless of the lighting or weather characteristics”.
Each camera features an SD/SDHC memory card slot allowing recordings to be stored within the unit. AXIS Q87-E models can move horizontally 360º endlessly, and vertically between +45º and -20º, with an accuracy of 0.02º in predefined positions. These products are IP66 rated and operate in a temperature range from -30 ºC at +45 ºC.
AXIS Q87-E Series network cameras are supported by the industry's largest base of video management software applications through the Axis Application Developer Partner Program, as well as by AXIS Camera Station. In addition, these cameras have support for the AXIS Application Platform (ACAP) for easy system integration and so application developers can add additional smart capabilities to cameras.
