Sono contributes its audiovisual solutions to Vinseum, the Museum of Wine Cultures of Catalonia
I am, company specialized in audiovisual services, has collaborated in the installation of the audiovisual equipment of the renovated Museum of Wine Cultures of Catalonia, Vinseum, a space designed for visitors to live and experience the culture of wine and everything that surrounds it.
After two and a half years of reconstruction and restructuring, has been reopened to the public in the former headquarters of the Royal Palace of Vilafranca del Penedés (Barcelona)Vinseum, the Museum of Wine Cultures of Catalonia, a new space renovated by the architect Santiago Vives with an innovative museography designed by Dani Freixes that appeals to the senses and emotions that wine provokes and not only to its history and tradition.
I am, in collaboration with Ara Technology, has been in charge of the supply and installation of a multimedia guide system based on IPod Touch. This includes 60 multimedia guides and multicharger. The flexibility offered by touch devices allows future improvements in the software to be made on the same available devices. The same system as in classic audio guides has been used as an information access system.: numbering system. This will allow access to both textual and spoken information., video and other types of multimedia content.
The software is implemented, also, in Android and iOS, hence, Visitors with Apple and Android devices, They will be able to download it to their devices through the availability of a Wi-Fi access point, located in the lobby, with internet connection. Users will be able to connect to application stores (App.Store y Google Play) from posters with QR codes, that link directly to the guide download pages on the different platforms.
The museum will have a diverse cultural offering open to all audiences., beyond showing the evolution of wine over time, will reveal its close relationship with culture, gastronomy, thought and different artistic manifestations. Thus, Vinseum collections are organized around a narrative script: the link with the land and the past, the wine making process, marketing, the impact on people's lives and debates about wine and vineyards. For each section, a concept has been chosen that functions as a common thread for the exhibition contents.: the pantry (introduction), the thyrsus (the staff of the god Dionysus, for its mythological origins), the clos (from grapes to wine), the dock (wine markets), the meeting (social relations) and the table (wine consumption). The result is not a museum of wine science but a museum that talks about wine as a cultural phenomenon, social, historical and also scientific appealing to all the memories and experiences that it provokes in people and society.
