Sharp introduces the PN-K321 professional 4K monitor with IGZO technology
Sharp has announced the new PN-K321 ultra-thin 4K professional monitor, which makes use of a 32" IGZO screen″ accompanied by LCD technology, with a native resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels, and that it has DisplayPort and HDMI connections.
The Japanese screen manufacturer Sharp will be released on the market in February 2013 the world's thinnest 4K monitor, with an LCD screen 32 inches only 35 mm thickness, including chassis. The new ultra-thin LED monitor model PN-K321 uses Sharp's new IGZO technology with 3.840 x 2.160 resolution pixels, the equivalent of four Full HD screens. The spokesperson for the Osaka-based company, Miyuki Nakayama, has commented: “We hope to launch it at the same time worldwide. It is aimed at computer designers, architects, medical users…those kind of people”.
The new PN-K321 supports DisplayPort and has two HDMI connectors and two small speakers. Its weight is around 7,5 kilograms.
Sharp is promoting its IGZO display technology, What are the initials of Indian?, gallium, zinc and oxide of the semiconductor on which this new technology is based, what, according to the Japanese firm, uses less energy than current LCD screens. The company points out that using IGZO in the new monitor has allowed an ultra-thin design, since this technology requires less backlighting than other methods and can be edge lit to avoid graining.
