Dataton takes the viewer to ancient Chinese culture

El espectáculo ‘The Song Of Unending Sorrow’ in Xi'an it uses more than fifty projectors under the leadership of Dataton's Watchout to combine tradition, music and art with the latest audiovisual technology.

El resort Hua Qing Chi en Xi’an, China has opened The Song Of Unending Sorrow, a spectacle that combines tradition, music and art with the latest audiovisual technology.

Based on a poem written by Bai Juyi at the beginning of siglo IX, The program uses more than 30 Watchout software licenses Dataton, controlling and distributing images to more than fifty high-powered projectors, holographic displays, special effects and pre-recorded audio.

Screens are synchronized with live actors, light and music to offer visitors a unique experience in an enclosure built specifically for the project, adjacent to the historic Hua Qing Palace.

The Song Of Unending Sorrow has had the local integrator Audio Visual Technique (AVT). This Dataton partner in China and Hong Kong, worked hand in hand with the Australian Spinifex for the creation of audiovisual content and its interaction with multimedia systems.

Kenneth Cheung, CEO of Audio Visual Technique, has assured that “The use of Watchout allowed not only the creation of an automatic audiovisual presentation using multiple projection on an impressive large scale, but also creating tracks for pre-recorded sound effects to provide rhythmic context to live actors and musicians that take the viewer back to the traditions of the Tang Dynasty. The result is a production full of atmosphere, emotion, drama and impact”.

Audio Visual Technique already collaborated last year with An Heng Group, project promoter, on the occasion of the exhibition Beijing Gets Moving based on traditional chinese culture.
