Panasonic leads Europe in sales of professional rugged tablets
With a fee of 29% in 2012, Panasonic is in first place in the European market for professional tablets, according to the VDC Research study, and with a participation of 63% of its Toughbook range in the rugged laptop segment.
For the eleventh consecutive year, Panasonic -specifically its division specialized in robust mobile device solutions for companies, Toughbook– maintains its leading position in the European market for robust laptops, with a participation of 63%, and is ranked first in the sale of professional rugged tablets, with a fee of 29% in 2012, according to the study of VDC Research.
Driven by the launch of its new range of Toughpad professional rugged tablets and the rapid adoption of the Toughbook CF-D1 and CF-H2 specialist tablet models, Panasonic has reached first place in Europe, with an increase of 400% annual in the number of units sold.
David Krebs, Vice President of Enterprise Mobility at VDC Research, points out after the results of the study, that “Panasonic has been the benchmark in the market for rugged and durable laptops and is now replicating this success in the market for rugged and professional tablets”.
According to this manager, The forecast is that the rugged tablet market will grow by 16% until the year 2017, “since companies see clear benefits that these devices bring to their mobile workforce, and Panasonic is well positioned to take advantage of this growth”.
The new Toughpad range consists of three Windows tablets 8 Pro and Android designed to meet growing enterprise demand for purpose-built tablets, using the latest features to improve field worker productivity.
