The German Metaio, one of the creators of the InsideAR augmented reality contest, whose edition 2013 will take place from 10 al 11 October in Munich, will present the first hands-free manual for cars using Google Glass augmented reality glasses.

Another of the company's novelties is the technological update and optimization of its augmented reality platform to integrate the solutions of portable device providers., as Epson (I will move), Vuzix (M-100) and her own Google, with whom you have already reached agreements.

Metaio's new augmented reality platform will include this new tracking and hands-free technology using Google Glass, which has materialized in a hands-free manual for a well-known automobile brand.

As Peter Meier has pointed out, CTO of Metaio, “we are going beyond passive viewing experiences, since the future belongs to augmented reality applications in all areas of life, and Metaio has already started this journey”.

Based on the Google Glass project, Metaio will demonstrate at InsideAR the capacity of its augmented reality platform on portable computing devices. The next generation of its augmented reality 3D tracking software uses CAD models of real-world objects (vehicles, buildings, machines, objects, …) to recognize them and overlay virtual information.

This new augmented reality tracking technology enables accurate and interactive rendering even in difficult environmental conditions. In this sense, the prototype of the hands-free interactive manual for vehicles developed by Metaio, aims to demonstrate at this conference that it can be commercially viable and also productive for companies.
