Fairlight audio participates in the opening and closing of the Sochi Winter Games 2014
Fairlight audio technology played a key role in the opening and closing ceremonies of the Sochi Olympic and Paralympic Games 2014, held at Fisht Stadium.
Both the design and management of the audio systems and services required for the opening and closing events of Sochi 2014 They were managed by the Australian Audit Pty that opted for this occasion for the technology of Fairlight.
Among the equipment that Auditoria Pty used at these events were two turnkey Fairlight editing and playback systems., each consisting of two Xstream desktop controllers, two PC workstations, of SX units- 20 XE-6 I/O and faders.
The Fairlight platform gave us the flexibility to deliver audio to FOH and monitors, broadcast mixes, audio for content design, vocal backup sources as well as QuickTime movies. All of this in a single session with full A/B-roll capability and full backup to a second system.. Although the main use of the system was redundant A/B playback, Our workflow also included creating QuickTime movies for technical programmers and choreographers. The Xstream controller is fully configurable and offers a fast and easy-to-use interface.”, explica Scott Willsallen, audit director.
Fairlight's Sochi systems were operated by veteran audio editor Steve Logan. Logan stated that “at any live event, but especially in one of this magnitude and importance, reliability is paramount. This is why we always choose Fairlight for our audio needs as we know we won't have any problems.” .
