DisplayMapper brings daylight-visible 3D videomapping to retail with MirrorBox
Based on cloud software and controlled from a central network through 'the cloud', MirrorBox is a 3D videomapping system visible in daylight, developed by DisplayMapper to energize the retail sector at a low cost.
DisplayMapper, division of British projection solutions specialist Projection Artworks, has presented its solution for the retail sector MirrorBox, a 3D videomapping system fully visible in daylight, that allows the retail environment to create applications of their products and promotional messages.
MirrorBox uses custom, cloud-based software that is controlled from a central network, allowing customers to develop and offer their own content on the equipment you have in your store, with projections controlled automatically and centrally in a simple way and at a low cost.
This display system has taken advantage of small scale, high brightness projector technology to combine it with its own expertise in lenses and mirrors to create the 3D effect and offer an innovative design to the retail sector and a high impact solution for the consumer that can be used either independently or as part of a larger installation.
As Tom Burch explains, Managing Director of DisplayMapper and Projection Artworks, “With this system we offer customers the possibility of transforming existing content into incredible 3D displays that can be viewed even in broad daylight.”. 3D video mapping is, definitely, more attractive than conventional screens, but until now it was cost prohibitive for retail. DisplayMapper has solved both the technical challenges and costs of content creation, which can now be amortized across hundreds of sites, In addition, it represents a new generation of POS for the future”.
