The new Y Series from d&b audiotechnik provides flexible and configurable solutions for any sound reinforcement requirement, small to medium size, whatever the style of the application.

The manufacturer of professional audio systems d&b audiotechnik has presented the new Y Series, that offers a configurable solution for sound reinforcement in medium and small-sized installations.

In this sense, Y7P and Y10P loudspeakers cover point source duties, with the B6-SUB providing a wide frequency response, while the two Y8 line source speakers, Y12, with corresponding cardioid Y-SUB subwoofer, take care of online fix tasks.

db audio Y12 arrayThe Y7P and Y10P speakers share the same dipole arrangement of the 8” drivers., centered on a 1.4” compression driver fitted with a rotating constant directivity trumpet, making it easy to apply horizontally or vertically.

With dispersion characteristics of 75×40° (model Y7P) and 110×40° (Y10P), These speakers offer a multitude of application options, individually as a full range system or in combination with other Y Series elements, in stacks on the ground or flown. Advanced port design delivers ample low frequency performance (LF) until 59 Hz. The B6-SUB complements both systems with a single 18” motor integrated into its compact bass-reflex design., and extends the frequency response up to 37 Hz.

Compact and configurable, The Y8 and Y12 loudspeakers use the same rigging design as their older J and V series 'brothers' and also share the same 80° and 120° horizontal dispersion characteristics., respectively. These systems can be hung in columns of up to 24 speakers with vertical angles 0 at 14° with a resolution of 1°.

db audio Y8-Y12The cardioid Y-SUB subwoofer houses a forward-facing 18” driver and a rear-facing 12” driver, generating a cardioid dispersion pattern.. Powered by a single amplifier channel, Can be placed in stacks above the ground or flown on top of a Y8/Y12 array.

Both point source and line source loudspeakers feature two 8” drivers with neodymium magnets mounted in a dipole arrangement around a 1.4” compression driver.. This motor configuration activates Y8 and Y12 to provide a controlled horizontal dispersion pattern up to 500 Hz. A wide range of speaker carrying solutions and accessories makes installation and mobility easier..

While Y speakers have been designed to provide flexible and mobile solutions, the Yi versions, Installation-specific are specially developed for permanent applications, with the only difference being the construction of the case and mounting accessories. Special color and weather resistance options provide more visual integration and placement possibilities.

db audio Y Series cartThe Y Series integrates into the workflow of d&b, including ArrayCalc simulation software, the company's R1 remote control software and amplifiers, a process that guarantees consistent and efficient results where necessary. In ArrayCalc a multitude of line and point source loudspeakers can be combined to obtain a graphical representation that will detail the coverage, the pressure level drop and safety aspects of a system configuration in a given space.

The export to R1 function transfers all configurations and settings of this simulation to a project file of the R1 remote control software, which will take into account all the specific functions of the system. The R1 workspace features an intuitive format for operating systems over the d remote control network.&b, via CAN-Bus to access amplifiers D6 and D12, as well as D80, which can also be controlled via Ethernet with OCA protocols.
