Acciona Producciones y Diseño's AV immersion project at Wu Kingdom Helv Relic Museum, awarded with a Red Dot
The audiovisual immersion show designed and executed by Acciona Producciones y Diseño for the Wu Kingdom Helv Relic Museum in the Chinese city of Wuxi, the largest carried out so far in the world, has received the international Red Dot Design Award in the category of 'Spatial Communication'.
Wu Kingdom Helv Relic Museum hosts the world's largest immersive display to date: 650 m2 of multimedia show that is distributed between the interactive floor of 400 m2 and a projection screen of 250 m2, that allow the visitor to interact with the most unique and impressive settings.
The Spanish company Acciona Productions and Design (APD) has been responsible for the design, technical development and museographic execution of this spectacular immersive experience, which has recently given it the international Red Dot Design Award in the category of 'Spatial Communication'.
Located in the Chinese city of Wuxi, to some 140 Km. deShangai, The Wu Kingdom Helv Relic Museum opened to the public in early 2014 to show the history of the Wu Dynasty. A detailed exhibition tour that culminates with the audiovisual show designed by Acciona Producciones y Diseño, that takes the visitor on a journey through time throughout the five chapters in which the history of the Kingdom of Wu is narrated (514-496 a.c.).
Efficient design
With the capacity to accommodate 3.840 people every day, APD's experience in managing this intense flow of visitors has been key to the efficient design of this immersive multimedia space.
To carry out this project, twenty-two high-resolution projectors and more than thirty computers have been synchronized., capable of processing signals from fourteen tracking cameras that capture visitors to generate 2D and 3D graphics in real time that are mixed with the filmed film.
The sound comes from around thirty sources located in different parts of the room. The feeling of immersion is completed with mirrors that cover the rest of the side walls of the room, creating unlimited space..
A visual and sound journey
The audiovisual show, fifteen minutes long, travels through the most significant passages in the history of the Kingdom of Wu and transports viewers to the settings that marked its evolution through a visual and sound journey through natural settings, battles, palaces and cities that react and modify depending on the movement of visitors.
The Red Dot Design award in the 'Spatial Communication' category that this immersive show by Acciona Producciones y Diseño has received is one of the most prestigious in the design sector and has been around for more than half a century.. This year they have opted for it 7.096 candidates from 49 countries. The award ceremony will take place on 24 October in Berlin (Germany).
