The RCD Espanyol stadium installs a Powerpixxel Led screen on its façade to generate income

Those responsible for the stadium RCD Espanyol (Real Spanish Sports Club), located in Cornellá-El Prat, and the German manufacturer of Led video screens Powerpixxel, have reached an agreement to visually and technologically improve the exterior of the building with the installation of a giant LED screen on the Gol Prat façade for the commercial exploitation of advertisements and corporate messages, as an added source of income for the blue and white club, that can be seen from one of the main access roads to Barcelona and its airport.

The installation of this large Led screen, Made in Germany by Powerpixxel with its Stripe technology, is composed of 550 fringes or strips 8 meters in length and with 40 pixel per mm, which represents a surface of 176 square meters (22×8 m.) which is expected to be operational at the end of next November.

The club's agreement with Powerpixxel contemplates a business model of joint commercial exploitation by both parties and a guaranteed minimum annual income on the part of RCF Espanyol.

The stadium, built in 2009 and awarded by UEFA as one of the most modern in Spain, Adding to this advertising revenue proposal is its proximity to the Splau shopping center., as well as one of the main access highways to the city and the airport, through which some circulate 180.000 vehicles per day.

Added to this is another avenue of income with the beginning of the construction of the so-called Wind Tunnel, in the west corner of the stadium, by the company Windoor, in which flight activities will be offered and there will be restaurant areas, which is estimated to come into operation at the end of next year.

The new Led screen on the Gol Prat façade of the Power8 Stadium of this first division soccer team maintains the stadium's line of technological innovation, with capacity for 40.500 aficionados, and efficiency and respect for the environment of the building, with low energy consumption.
