The dLive console was used for a dual purpose, On the one hand, it was the table chosen to make the FoH mix., and on the other, the one in charge of generating the three redundant recordings that were wanted to be made. In the concert they used 64 canales, that is to say, all the preamps offered by the DM64 unit.

The past 15 June, the singer Rozalén offered a concert at the Palau de la Música in Barcelona, during which the recording of a DVD for Sony Music was also made.

José María Rosillo was in charge of mixing and recording., technical responsible for the sound of the event, who opted for the dLive digital mixing console from Allen & Heath, whose brand sells Lexon Distribution, for its realization.

This equipment was used, on the one hand, to make the FoH mixture, y, for another, to generate the three redundant recordings that were desired to be made. It has been a concert in which they have used 64 canales, that is to say, all the preamps offered by the DM64 unit.

Rosillo defines himself as an engineer who, at a given time, has been forced to produce. “I have come to the world of production because I am an engineer and, when there is no one who acts as a producer, someone has to take the reins. If in a recording there is a figure holding the reins, perfect... if not, I have to take them; Otherwise the project does not go ahead.. That has also changed the way I work live.”.

The original system design for this concert was designed to have double redundancy, that is to say, have three recordings, in addition to the FoH mix, all managed by a single Allen dLive table & Heath. The primary recording would be made from the dLive's MADI card to a Digigrid MGB interface, and from there to José Maria Rosillo's computer.

A second recording was made from the dLive console's Waves SounGrid card to another computer and, third, a Dante card that was to be used for a dual purpose: provide signal to the monitor table and on the other hand provide a split to record on a third computer. In this system, the dLive acts as a master table, since you have control of the profits, has the previous, etc. The monitor desk receives a digital split of all signals via Dante.

Finally, the MADI card was dispensed with, and the primary recording was made via Waves SoundGrid and through Dante the signal was sent to the monitor table and two computers for recording.

“dLive is a very solid system that works very well. Its quality/price ratio is unbeatable. It is an excellent solution for carrying out live performances. I'm sure that with other much more expensive digital tables I would have had a lot of problems, only with cards, interfaces and so on, says Rosillo..
