Crestron DM XiO Director Delivers Unlimited AV Network Flexibility and Scalability
This device, Optimized for the enterprise and designed for the DM NVX series, Virtually emulates the functionality of a traditional hardware-based DigitalMedia matrix switch, transmitting 4K60 audiovisual signals in a room, building or campus.
Crestron DM XiO Director is an enterprise-optimized network appliance that serves as a centralized virtual switch for easy configuration, control and management of large audiovisual networks of the DM NVX series. This is a secure network solution that offers 4K60 video, 4:4:4 and HDR over standard Ethernet 1 Gb.
“The DM XiO Director brings the DM NVX series to life and delivers on the promise of unlimited AV network flexibility and scalability”, affirms Steve Samson, Executive Director of Business Development at Crestron.
This device, which was presented for the first time in InfoComm 2017, Virtually emulates the functionality of a traditional hardware-based DigitalMedia matrix switch, transmitting 4K60 audiovisual signals in a room, building or campus.
It is available in models that support 80 terminals (DM-XIO-DIR-80), 160 terminals (DM-XIO-DIR-160) or unlimited terminals (DM-XIO-DIR-ENT). The DM XiO Director can manage any corporate application, university, governmental, military, medical, transport, deportiva, entertainment, lodging, sales games, no matter how big it is.
The DM XiO Director discovers each DM NVX terminal on the network automatically and allows it to be assigned a domain using a simple interface. A domain is just a logical grouping of terminals that function as a single switching entity.. Thus, allows individual rooms and other subsystems to be organized and controlled independently. With the DM XiO Director, there is no need for physical switches in each room since it replaces them with a virtual equivalent that works in the audiovisual network.
The DM XiO Director provides an intuitive web-based user interface for easy system configuration, signal transmission and complete diagnosis of the entire audiovisual network.
Each domain and each terminal can be identified with a name. Navigating the entire system is easy thanks to the search engine that allows you to quickly find domains, terminals, entrances and exits by name or address. It also has a screen with a system summary, showing the status of the audio and video signal for each input or output in graph format.
