With a resolution of 7,680×4.320p and a size of 88”, The Korean producer of OLED screens reinforces its commitment to the Premium television market with this 8K model.

Just one day before IFA 2018 open its doors at messe Berlin (of the 31 from August to 5 September), the multinational LG Electronics has already starred in the first major technological announcement that will mark that contest: your first 8K OLED TV (7.680×4.320p), that with a size of 88 inches features 33 millions of self-luminous pixels that reproduce the renowned pure black – exclusive to OLED TVs- and an extraordinary contrast ratio.

With the expectation of multiplying by two the number of OLED TVs on the market in 2018, as well as exceeding nine million units in the year 2022, LG continues to expand its range with this technology within its Premium television offering.

Although the 8K market is still in a very early stage (Its eternal competitor will also present an 8K model at the contest), is expected to grow by more than five million units in 2022, and with this announcement the manufacturer wants to be in a leading position to lead the Ultra-Premium market with its 8K OLED TV.

As Brian Kwon assures, president of LG Home Entertainment Company, “The first 8K OLED TV is a milestone in the field of display technology and represents its evolution. If 4K OLED televisions have already revolutionized the television industry, LG's 8K OLED model will do the same now”.
