NanoLumens Installs Four-Sided Display at MiamiCentral Brightline Station
in this station, Home of the new Brightline high-speed intercity express train, Four NanoLumens Performance Series Led screens have been installed. With a pixel pitch of 6,3 mm, They wrap around a column that has an angle of 15 degrees and a height of 10,3 metros.
At the beginning of this year All Aboard Florida, subsidiaria de Florida East Coast Industries (FECES), began launching the Brightline high-speed intercity express train system. This service connects Miami, Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach with a final stop at Orlando International Airport. While work was being completed at the station MiamiCentral Brightline, They decided to implement a display solution that would capture travelers' attention.
“We wanted something iconic like the Grand Central Terminal clock. (GCT). We were looking for a balance between a technology that could completely envelop the column with a resolution high enough to display great content but that was affordable”, comments Scott Sanders, EVP of Development and Construction de Brightline.
To achieve this objective, it was decided to install a large four-sided screen around a column of 10,3 meters high that is located in a very complicated place in the station, near escalators. Another challenge that had to be solved was that the column has an angle of 15 degrees, which made installation even more challenging.
To successfully complete the project, the installation had to be designed precisely, and Brightline turned to NanoLumens so that you can create a customized solution that adapts to the space.
NanoLumens created a customized solution based on its Led Performance Series displays that capture the attention of travelers and display high-definition digital content. 24 hours of the day. The solution is made up of four screens 6,3 mm pixel pitch that adapts to this difficult space, with a lot of traffic.
“This installation was a challenge as we had to first design the entire structure to which our Performance Series display solutions would be attached.. The fact that the column had an angle of 15 degrees made it a big challenge. NanoLumens has made column displays before, but never with this angle. Besides, is 10,3 meters high. This was a very large column to work with.. Besides, on two of the screens, The Nixels had to be placed staggered on the top and bottom sides of 3,3 meters to accommodate the angle”, explains Arch Nelson, Southeast Regional Sales Director de NanoLumens.
While the angled sides have 3,3 meters wide, the other two sides of the column have 2,7 metros. The four screens totaled 12 linear meters at the base with the four screens measuring 10.6×2,7 metros; 10,5×2,7 metros; 10,6×3,3 meters and 4.4×3,3 metros.
Content displayed by Brightline includes programming details, station concession information as well as various alerts.
With more than 0,9 meters deep, NanoLumen's Performance Series ultra-thin Led displays create corners like no other manufacturer on the market and are available in any size with pixel pitch ranging from 3 to the 9 mm. The series also offers the flexibility of front or rear serviceable models to simplify installation and maintenance..
