Allen & Heath adds the new Avantis to its digital mixers with 96kHz resolution
The manufacturer completes its trilogy of mixers with this equipment, which in this case is based on its powerful and exclusive XCVI FPGA engine.
Avantis represents the most advanced technology in Allen & Heath in a console 64 canales, con 42 buses configurables, equipped with two Full HD touch screens, to which are added its extensive I/O possibilities and its processing from the dLive console, the largest the company currently offers.
As Rob Clark explains, CEO of Allen & Heath, “uniting dLive and SQ, Avantis completes our trilogy of advanced consoles with resolution of 96 kHz. From them it takes many of the features that have made them so popular., including them in an autonomous mixer of 64 channels with a unique user interface, full connectivity with our input and output ecosystem, in addition to the dPack option”.
One of the highlights of Avantis for this manager “is that we have adopted a new approach with industrial design, creating an all-metal chassis that is super strong, “Lightweight and looks fantastic”.
Fitted into its alloy casing and tubular structure, The Avantis control surface is centered on the two Full HD touch screens and their corresponding rotary controls.
“Having two touch screens is a new concept, but we realized that we could use it for more possibilities, which led us to develop the Continuity user interface”, Andy Bell points out, director of I+D de Allen & Heath.
Among other benefits, Bell highlights that “within seconds of getting to work with Avantis, Engineers will appreciate the seamless flow between physical controls and on-screen software. You can work with gains and panoramas with the rotary controls and, next, with a touch of a key, switch to EQ or dynamics processing on the entire strip”.
The console also provides a configurable FastGrab tab on the right side of each screen, which offers another way to quickly and easily access control of auxiliary sends, EQ, compressor and FX on the currently selected channel or direct channel. “Ultimately, with the Continuity interface, It is the engineer who decides how he wants to work, not the mixer”, subraya Andy Bell.
While many users will choose to combine Avantis with the GX4816 audio expander from 48 tickets and 16 Departures, Avantis is part of Allen's Everything I/O ecosystem & Heath, which means that to any rental company that has already previously invested in equipment from this company, as well as anyone looking for a compact system, Avantis will provide you with real flexibility, thanks to its ability to connect to a huge range of audio expansion equipment.
Besides, Avantis is also compatible with the ME range of personal mixers and IP series remote controllers., ambos de Allen & Heath, brand that sells in the market Audio-Technica Iberia.
For local entrances and exits, Avantis has twelve analog inputs - via XLR connectors- and twelve analog outputs, via XLR and AES connectors (one stereo input and two stereo outputs). Two additional input and output ports allow Avantis to benefit from the benefits of the entire current range of dLive option cards., Dante (64×64 y 128×128), Waves, gigaACE, MADI and others.
This console also includes the necessary processing tools to respond to the needs of any user or application., including compressors, EQs and Allen's popular RackExtra FX units & Heath (twelve slots).
The dPack option further expands the possibilities of Avantis, providing the Dyn8 dynamics processing engine (up to sixteen calls), DEEP compressors and Dual-Stage Valve preamp. Those who purchase the dPack will automatically receive all future DEEP and FX updates completely free of charge., Securing the future of your investment.
Pair of Nic Berettas, Allen product manager & Heath, “in the gap between SQ and dLive, The mixer market is full of 'old school style' consoles, based on 48kHz DSP. Avantis offers innovative features in all aspects with a very attractive price. Customers who use it in premises, temples, tours and rental companies will be very impressed by everything it offers”.
