The Harry Perkins Institute updates its digital signage solution with Signagelive and BrightSign
The project covers the two facilities of the center, integrated by BrightSign XT244 players and Signagelive CMS. This combination allows you to manage the delivery of content to LED screens..
BrightSign has collaborated with Signagelive to design a digital signage solution for the Harry Perkins Medical Research Institute from Australia. The project covers the two facilities of the center and the objective is to allow managing the creation, programming and delivery of content to a large number of Led screens, information boards and large banner screens located in the lobby. All of these display stands are used for internal digital signage communications..
The Harry Perkins Institute, founded in 1998, has grown to become one of Australia's leading adult medical research centers. More than 450 Research staff members work in two new state-of-the-art facilities, together with the main university hospitals.
Its lobby exhibition space is accessible to the public during weekdays and regular visits give hobbyists the opportunity to see how this cutting-edge research is carried out.. Spaces are also available for venue rental. The goal of the new installation was to increase the reliability of the platform and minimize the time spent managing the system..
One of the Harry Perkins Institute's partner organizations was already using Signagelive and the company Amped Digital had provided highly effective implementation and ongoing support services. This is why they decided to bet on this combination again..
They had an inflexible signaling infrastructure, where everything had to come from a manufacturer. Software updates were large projects with complex firmware dependencies and did not have the option to choose devices.
Our solution was at end of life and running out of support. Signagelive was the most cost effective replacement solution, functional and flexible that we evaluate. Doesn't need much training, It does not consume large amounts of time to maintain it and is reliable in operation. Digital signage is a vital and valuable part of our communication and brand strategies, therefore it has provided a great commercial benefit to the institute”, comenta Andy Crowhurst, Harry Perkins Institute Facilities Operations Manager.
BrightSign media players were chosen for their reliability in these environments. The chosen model, the XT244, offers POE+, Provides H.265/H.264 4K support, allows upscaling to 4K and dual decoding of two 4Kp60 videos simultaneously.
“We are delighted to make the Harry Perkins Institute facilities more user-friendly and functional. This project serves as an example to show how updated digital signage solutions can improve, not only the aesthetics of a building but also contribute to the overall good functioning of a valuable educational facility”, clarifies Jeff Hastings, director general de BrightSign.
The synchronization capability of 'frame-accurate', along with full feature support of Signagelive's CMS, allows you to manage the infrastructure in a simple way, from installation to content management.
“Signagelive CMS Reliability with BrightSign Media Player is Outstanding. Given the inflexible signaling infrastructure we had, Signagelive and BrightSign have been like a breath of fresh air, with significant cost savings, reducing administration costs and providing a solution that is much more agile in the presentation of content. Besides, Amped Digital has provided implementation and support services”, añade Andy Crowhurst.
The purpose of this project was to increase the reliability of the platform and reduce the time spent managing the system to a minimum., allowing facility management to focus on other functions and not just updating internal digital signage communications.
“The best result of the project was the ability to give the institute's key users a reliable and simple way to display information on multiple sites, with the possibility of adding users with a training 20 a 30 minutes”, explains Nick Curulli, Australian Business Development Manager for Signagelive
