JVCKenwood shows the new version of its Gazefinder gaze tracking system

Gazefinder NP-200 replaces the NP-100 system, which the company developed for medical applications, and with this version it expands to more applications thanks to an increase in the sampling frequency and a reinforced level of security.

JVCKenwood has been one of the first companies to dedicate effort and resources in the field of gaze tracking and presented the first version of the Gazefinder system to the market (NP-100) in September 2016.

The development of Gazefinder NP-200 now includes new functionalities that the company will also present to universities and research centers specialized in behavioral studies in the field of psychology., brain sciences and education, in order to provide new approaches to systems that are based on the measurement and tracking of gaze.

Gazefinder visualizes the points to which the eye directs its gaze, featuring still images and videos created to establish measurements on the observed object. Analyzes the points of the object that the eye sees on the screen using the video image of an infrared stereographic camera and projects the points that the eye sees on the screen.

One of its characteristics is that, thanks to JVCKenwood technology, performs a non-invasive measurement, since it does not require the subject to have his head still or to wear special glasses. To do this, it has a precise calibration function to measure the shape of each individual person's eyes and make the necessary adjustments in a very short time..

Gazefinder NP-200 has a new design, with a weight reduction of 37% compared to the previous model, which makes its portability even easier. For this, an image presentation monitor has been integrated, an eye tracker with an infrared stereographic camera and a computer.

The front surface has a completely flat surface, no level differences between monitor screen and camera unit; the back surface is grayish white to match the installation environment.

Easy installation and handling, from measurements to visualization of results, the operator can use it without problems as soon as it is put into operation.

The system has three sample rates to choose from: 50 Hz (like the one the NP-100 model had), to which are now added those of 60 Hz y 120 Hz, which allows different configurations depending on the type of research to be undertaken.
