Visix introduces voice recognition to its digital signage solution
The version 1.32 of its digital signage software AxisTV Signage Suite incorporates a new widget that turns any screen into a hands-free interactive sign.
Visix has updated its AxisTV Signage Suite digital signage software. The version 1.32 incorporates a new voice recognition widget (VRW) that turns any screen into a hands-free interactive sign. This can be dragged and dropped into any layout, then set custom parameters indicating what to listen for and how to respond to requests. Can be used in any environment, on individual screens, configurations or video wall.
“Customers no longer have to rely on touch screens for interactivity, which is especially important in this time of concern about germ transmission. Just like people got used to using touch screens because of smartphones, “Now they are starting to expect a voice user interface like the one they use with their virtual assistants at home.”, comments Jill Perardi, Visix Creative Services Manager.
VRW app allows viewers to zoom in on any screen, request the material they want and immediately see that content on the display.
AxisTV Signage Suite users design the various content options, they use the VRW, enter voice triggers and configure them to launch the appropriate content. Keywords can launch different slides within a layout or hide or show things on the same slide.
The programming behind Visix voice-activated signage is not as complicated as the natural language processing used by Siri, Alexa or other virtual assistants. Instead, Take advantage of the built-in speech recognition engine for Windows 10, which is already in the Visix media player, and does not imply any programmatic adjustment. No additional fees required, internet connectivity, artificial intelligence or other third-party products to function.
