As part of its strategy to develop advanced and innovative audiovisual solutions, Pictures That Move (PTM) integrated the software more than ten years ago sucker to your workflow. Proof of this are cutting-edge projects for companies and institutions such as Inditex. (Zara), LG Electronics, Iberostar Group, Zurich Insurance, IBM and the Los Angeles Olympic bid 2028, inter alia.

In recent months, PTM has been developing a virtual events solution based on Ventuz, which began before the COVID health crisis occurred 19, and that is now operational to respond to the needs of companies to communicate with their clients and partners, keeping costs under control and complying with social distancing and other safety procedures.

For this reason, The company has expanded its audiovisual proposal with Call Studio TV, which they qualify as “a platform to host an event, a 3D space that adapts to the company's corporate identity where images can be inserted, videos, interactive graphics and any visual information in real time”.

blankThis platform is powered by Ventuz, as Peter Specht explains, CEO de PTM: “The goal was to offer virtual events that go beyond the standard streaming video of talking faces, which have become almost ubiquitous today. We wanted to create something as close to a TV show as possible., with the highest possible quality and adding all the creative possibilities that Ventuz real-time graphics allow”.

Although initially this proposal was for small and medium events, which usually take place in small venues or hotel meeting rooms, “the system is flexible enough to expand for larger events and spaces. It was also very important for us and our clients to offer the best quality of content and have the creative freedom to personalize events., keeping costs down, which is mandatory in the current pandemic situation. “We knew this was only possible using real-time graphics.”, Specht points out.

At the moment, PTM has a compact television studio in its facilities in the center of Madrid, equipped with three cameras, a chromatization system, background screens, interactive solutions, as well as semi-transparent touch screens. All of these elements can be integrated and customized for each individual event.

blankGraphic and video content is displayed on screens, both real and virtual, along with a live presenter, a professional host or representative of the event client, with live video streams of participants via Microsoft Teams, Skype, Zoom or other similar video conferencing solutions. The final composite video signal is then transmitted to event attendees or the general public.

“We have been working with Ventuz for over ten years and know how flexible and reliable it is., so it was the natural choice for us when creating Call Studio, since it allows us to easily integrate video streams, live video input signals and video over IP technologies, like I am, and combine them with 2D and 3D graphics generated in real time to present live data”, adds Guillermo Plazzola, director of the Ventuz project at PTM.

Another key element for his choice in this project has been interaction “and Ventuz brings us a fantastic set of tools,” says this professional., from touch screens to external control data using OSC, TUIO, etc. Besides, It also allows us to control studio lighting using industry standard protocols., like DMX or ArtNET, which is mandatory due to the current situation that requires small technical teams”.

blankThe flexibility offered by this system is highlighted by Specht: “we had to include live subtitles and hard-of-hearing translation for a recent event, and thanks to the flexibility and expandability of Ventuz it was quite easy to integrate it into our platform”.

Call Studio TV is now live and has been used in many marketing actions in recent weeks, such as the virtual events of IBM's cybersecurity week or that of the Spanish publisher Anaya to launch its new Social Business books.

Immersive corporate presentations

The basis of this development is based on PTM's experience and advanced interactive hardware., with laser motion sensors, 3D interface and touch holographic projection screens to develop more creative and impactful presentations.

blankAn example of this is the Inditex immersive presentation room in Arteixo (A Coruña) developed by PTM, which has a large format interactive screen (26×3 metros) to display the company's communication content, as well as a holographic touch screen.

Also noteworthy is the presentation showroom of the Organizing Committee for the Los Angeles Olympic Games. 2028 (more data in Digital AV), with the development of a 3D model of this city on which a mapping is projected, with a 270º surround projection.
