Lawo and Cornerstone Chapel

The Cornerstone Chapel of Leesburg has installed a console Theirs mc²56 of 32 channels for your audio system, expanding its mixing capacity and completing its transition to the IP network.

The new Lawo console, based on Ravenna/AES67 IP technology, handles both live performances and broadcast duties, providing a wide range of new options to help Cornerstone prepare for the future.

Lawo and Cornerstone ChapelThe installation includes a Lawo A__UHD core that provides 512 DSP channels, two compact I/O stage boxes, a Nova73 router capable of routing 8,092×8.092 mono channels, and Dante integration to power the facility's Yamaha CL5 monitoring console and other Dante equipment.

The mc²56 console also includes a Waves Super Rack integration and smart GPIO settings to change the DSP presets of the BSS audio processor.

Cornerstone Audio Director, Joey Burdette, together with his production team, decided that betting on an IP audio system was an investment for the future. “This solution from Lawo provides Cornerstone with features that will meet our FOH needs now, as well as the possibility of expansion for future projects. Because the A__UHD core can be a common resource for up to four consoles, We can expand our capabilities by simply adding additional surfaces and stage boxes throughout the campus. Connecting everything with an IP network makes system growth very easy”.

Joey previously worked at McLean Bible Church on the Tysons campus in Washington, which was updated in 2018 with a mc²56 at FOH and a mc²36 in the monitor position, so I was already familiar with the performance and features of these Lawo equipment. The project was completed on schedule in October 2020.

Lawo and Cornerstone Chapel

This mc²56 is now being used FOH at Cornerstone Sanctuary for midweek and Sunday services, as well as for young adult services and other larger church gatherings.

For Joey, flexibility is important, especially considering how often the console is used and how many different operators, each with their own workflows, They work at mc²56. “The flexibility, The workflow and expandability of our MC²56 are things no other console offers. And the audio quality is beyond anything else on the market. Our operators love how easy it is to use and how fast it is to work on. The console adapts to your workflows, not the other way around”.

Cornerstone already has plans to expand its new Lawo IP system. “We are already looking to add more Lawo consoles to our facilities and are also looking at video infrastructure products from Lawo”, says Burdette.
