Uniguest acquires Planet eStream, video specialist for education
The multinational Uniguest adds a new company to its ecosystem with the purchase of Planet eStream, provider of video platforms for the educational sector, as part of its division Tripleplay.
With more than 4 million users in more than 550 locations, the acquisition of Planet eStream increases the presence of Uniguest in it education sector, while extending the well-known proposal OF and of digital signage of the organization.
Based in West Yorkshire (United Kingdom), Planet eStream to be aligned under IPTV and digital signage division of Tripleplay, belonging to Uniguest, which is also located in this country.
Planet eStream is a unified video platform primarily used by secondary schools, institutes and universities to create, manage and deliver digital learning content and resources to your students and staff.
Its functions include video on demand, to live broadcast, capturing lectures/classes, as well as digital signage and image management. A set of flexible and comprehensive tools to adapt to the specific needs of an organization.
Jeff Hiscox, director general de Uniguest, has pointed out that “Planet eStream is a great addition to our family of brands. As Planet eStream integrates into Tripleplay division “We will explore opportunities to extend several of its enterprise video and digital signage capabilities to other end markets and territories.”, Hiscox points out.
Wendy Robinson, co-founder of Planet eStream, will remain at Uniguest as general director of this company. “During the last seventeen years -explains- we have worked hard to create a platform that supports the requirements, increasingly older, from educational organizations for video-based learning”.
As Robinson recalled, “Planet eStream started as a video on demand and live streaming platform. We now have a wide range of cutting-edge features, such as capturing lectures and classrooms, photo and image management and digital signage. We have also introduced many innovative tools that allow educators to turn passive video content into engaging and interactive learning resources.. Bringing all these technologies together into a unified video platform gives us a unique offering.”.
Uniguest is a portfolio company of Atlantic Street Capital and the addition of Planet eStream to the organization marks the fifth acquisition of 2021 of the company: in february, Janus Displays, hospitality-focused digital signage company; in may, Sagely, senior software technology provider; in september UCView, IPTV and digital signage provider, and in october will fly, specialized in voice-based systems.
