Ayrton Cobra: IP65 luminaire with phosphor laser source

The French brand has just launched its first factory-standard phosphor laser source Ayrton Cobra. Incorporates IP65 rated outdoor protection and is based on the Dreamspot 18K concept.

This luminaire has been designed to generate a D65 white point that offers perfect color reproduction. Delivers high native contrast, defined by its manufacturer as “never before achieved by a digital light source”, a beam angle of 0.6° and an extreme focus range with XT-Focus technology that allows you to adjust the shape of the beam according to the distance at which you want to apply it.

This laser focus is capable of illuminating an object several kilometers away., with an output of 386.000 lux a 20 meters and a zoom ratio of 38x with a range of 0.6° to 23°. It offers infinite possibilities for light adjustment thanks to its patented optical system with 13 lenses and a front lens 170 mm.

Cobra adopts a minimalist style, well balanced thanks to the simplified waterproofing of its luminaire, known as EasyProtect-65, and to the continuous rotation of the pan and tilt movement, that together enhance the options of creating complex effects.

This launch from Ayrton is equipped with a very innovative color section that includes a CMY mixing system and a multi-position wheel equipped with six corrective filters, 21 complementary color filters and a variable CTO in two concentric circles of 2D-ColorWheel technology.

Besides, This laser source has a high graphic capacity that is completed with a selection of 92 metal gobos, fixed and rotating, distributed on two wheels, specifically created to sculpt light in beam mode, and incorporates an animation section in the gobo wheel with a 2D effect.

To produce volumetric lighting effects, These gobos can be mixed with two sections of four individually combinable rotating prisms. As a culmination of the Cobra graphical tools palette, two Frost filters to diffuse the light beam without deforming it.
