Under the historic roof of the Natural History Museum in Vienna and in collaboration with Ars Electronica, the company 7reasons media and a number of contractors and partners, a completely new space has been created, el Deck 50.

It is a space that invites visitors of all ages to explore in a playful way the connections between research and contemporary problems in society and allows an inspiring vision of the world of science.. Combine a modern laboratory, a stage with a large panoramic LED video wall and a meeting area, open, with stands and multimedia furniture.

The virtual installation of Futurelab by Ars Electronica allows visitors to immerse themselves in immersive worlds. A scanning station, integrated into a large mobile drawing table, allows the integration of active designs in virtual worlds, that become directly visible on the video wall.

A high resolution infrared camera, that captures the depth of visitors, allows them to immerse themselves in a world of augmented reality and interact with the dinosaurs on the Led video wall.

Deck's ambitious strategy and objective 50 was and is to invite and encourage society to discover, prove, acquire knowledge, debate and ask questions. Besides, 50 offers a platform for various workshops. It is a lively place that facilitates the intense exchange of knowledge and ideas among visitors., the conservatives, scientists and museum staff, involving them in the scientific and research process.

Multimedia equipment

The 10.5" panoramic style Led video wall×1,9 Leyard meters provides sharp, bright images and is a brilliant setting for NHM scientific and virtual content.

With his 20 square meters extends for approximately 2/3 from the exhibition hall, creating a seamless background and increasing the visual clarity and aesthetics of the Deck suite 50.

This multimedia installation is complemented by another 2.9 LED video wall.×1,9 metros, transparent LCD and interactive touch screens.
