Obsidian NX1: modular console for Onyx lighting control
The portable and compact console Obsidian NX1 can be expanded with the NX P motorized playback wing and the dedicated NX K dedicated keyboard.
After its launch in the last edition of Prolight+Sound, Obsidian Control Systems has announced the commercialization of its solution NX1 , a compact lighting controller that includes all the functions needed to manage a wide variety of shows using Onyx.
Besides, Features expandable play wing NX P and the keyboard 10 digits NX K, creating a very flexible console.
Designed for small to medium projects where an intuitive PC-less console is needed, This solution will be valued by both rental companies and mobile lighting programmer.
Obsidian NX1 joins the compact but fully integrated NX2 and the company's flagship NX4 under the Onyx lighting control platform.
It is a small console where the playback and programming interfaces are fully compatible. Using the Onyx operating system, NX1 offers a list of professional features such as an HD multi-touch screen of 10,1 inch high gloss, plus an HDMI output for an additional external touch monitor, allowing additional customizable views.
Includes four assignable parameter encoders, 10 Full motorized playbacks with four freely assignable buttons, plus a hybrid playback matrix and additional function keys. A dedicated Master Go section completes the front panel design.
Built with a solid infrastructure, features the latest in industrial-grade components such as a powerful new Intel processor, a high-speed NVMe SSD drive and 8 GB of DDR4 RAM enabling fast boot times, instant operation and the ability to process 8 Universes directly within the console.
With four DMX ports, one Gigabit network port for up to 8 Universes de Art-Net, sACN plus Onyx X-Net protocol, The NX1 has extensive connectivity and power for a wide variety of shows and applications.
Supports an additional touch monitor for even more direct access at any time. With measures of 298,5 x636 x71 mm and a weight of 4,5 kilos, The console is portable enough to carry on commercial flights.

Expandable with NX P and K
The NX1 can be expanded with the NX P Playback Wing with motorized faders and a dedicated NX K keyboard that can function as a PC Wing on its own.. A magnetic alignment system allows connection to either side of the NX1. The keyboard and playback wing are part of the Onyx platform and can be used with all other NX or Onyx devices on any PC system.
The NX P is a motorized fader wing suitable for any Onyx console 1 and Onyx PC systems. Four built-in DMX ports provide instant connectivity to the lighting system. Multiple NX P wings can be connected to any Onyx console or PC system, expanding direct access with 20 plays at the same time. Flexible button array can be assigned to playback control or powerful function keys.
The NX P replicates the design and functionality of the NX1 and NX4 console surfaces for fluid and intuitive operation. A magnetic alignment system allows connection to either side of the NX1 console or NX K command panel.
The NX K is a small USB-powered control surface for Onyx, which replicates the full keyboard and command section of larger consoles. Four encoders complete the programming experience for quick, direct access to parameters. A simple magnetic alignment system allows installation on either side of the NX1 console or NX P motorized fader.
