Mad Cool 2022 illuminates Madrid again with innovation on stage and technology
After opening its long-awaited 5th edition yesterday with full capacity, Mad Cool Festival offers attendees one more day of first-class concerts, scenarios equipped with the latest AV technology and immersive experiences in virtual reality and 5G connectivity.
After two years of waiting, in which most massive musical events had to be canceled due to the pandemic, the 5th edition of Mad Cool Festival, which yesterday inaugurated the first day at the Madrid venue of Valdebebas – Ifema Madrid, has returned stronger than ever until next time 10 July.
Among the new features of this edition, and that on their first day they starred as headliners Metallica, along with artists and bands like Twenty One Pilots, Placebo, Yungblud, Wolf Alice, inter alia, with a total of twenty-nine performances, highlights the extension to one more day of the Madrid festival and a total of seven scenarios, compared to the six of his last call.
With an extension of 100.000 m2 and capacity to accommodate 80.000 personas, The Mad Cool space had full capacity on its first day according to current regulations, con 70.000 assistants, more parallel activities and one more stage.

Another of the outstanding and favorite stages of bands, artists and the public is Stage Madrid is life, of 15 meters high, equipped with some 300 m2 of Led screens and two hundred acoustic enclosures.
Located next to the entrance to the space is the stage Region of Madrid, third in importance of the festival and a reference with its iconic giant sign welcoming attendees. Virtual reality and 5G connectivity
Another of the technological attractions that Mad Cool offers 2022 to its attendees is an immersive experience based on virtual reality and connectivity, with exclusive digital creation before, during and after the festival thanks to the official sponsorship of Orange, in collaboration with your partner Ericsson.
The benefits of the 5G technology, combined with virtual reality glasses and panoramic images of the event, which is projected on a large video wall located in the Orange space on the premises, attendees can watch in real time everything that happens at Mad Cool with a immersive experience.
Besides, The company has invested resources to offer fixed and mobile connectivity to attendees with the installation of different 5G stations in the festival space. Ericsson has provided dedicated coverage with three picoceldas 5G small size, to guarantee the best coverage for augmented reality glasses in areas with a high volume of terminals and data traffic.
Besides, The bracelet is the only access and payment method at the festival, with charging points available on site.
