Mad Cool 2022

After inaugurating yesterday with full capacity its expected 5th edition, Mad Cool Festival offers attendees one more day of top-notch concerts, scenarios equipped with the latest AV technology and immersive experiences in virtual reality and 5G connectivity.

After two years of waiting, where most of the mass music events had to be cancelled due to the pandemic, the 5th edition of Mad Cool Festival, that yesterday inaugurated the first day in the Madrid enclosure of Valdebebas – Ifema Madrid, is back stronger than ever until the next 10 July.

blankAmong the novelties of this edition, and that on their first day they starred as headliners Metallica, along with artists and bands such as Twenty One Pilots, Placebo, Yungblud, Wolf Alice, among others, with a total of twenty-nine performances, highlights the extension to one more day of the Madrid festival and a total of seven scenarios, compared to the six of its last call.

With an extension of 100.000 m2 and capacity to accommodate 80.000 people, the Mad Cool space had on its first day full capacity according to current rules, with 70.000 present, more parallel activities and one more scenario.

Mad Cool 2022 Prgspecifically, the main stage of the festival: Stage Mad Cool, has more than 15 meters high and has been equipped by engineering Prg as for audio, video and lighting, with more than sixty audio consoles and more than two hundred speakers in line array, with led screens of high luminosity exterior located on its flanks and another interior as a large videowall.

Another of the outstanding and favorite scenarios of bands artists and audiences is Stage Madrid is life, of 15 meters high, equipped with 300 m2 of Led screens and two hundred acoustic enclosures.

Located next to the entrance of the space is the stage Region of Madrid, third in importance of the festival and reference with its iconic giant sign to welcome attendees. Close to it is located the fourth stage, with the traditional tent The loop powered by Iberdrola, with some 4.000 m2 of surface and capacity for 9.000 people.

Virtual reality and 5G connectivity

Another of the technological attractions offered by Mad Cool 2022 to its assistants is an immersive experience based on virtual reality and connectivity, with exclusive digital creation before, during and after the festival thanks to the official sponsorship of Orange, in collaboration with your partner Ericsson.

Mad Cool 2022The benefits of the 5G technology, combined with virtual reality glasses and panoramic images of the event, that is projected in a large videowall located in the space of Orange in the enclosure, attendees can see in real time everything that happens in Mad Cool with a immersive experience.

In addition, the company has invested resources to offer fixed and mobile connectivity to attendees with the installation of different 5G stations in the festival space. Ericsson has provided dedicated coverage with three 5G picocells small in size, para garantizar la mejor cobertura a las gafas de realidad aumentada en zonas con alto volumen de terminales y tráfico de datos.

On the other hand, the bracelet is the only method of access and payment at the festival, with charging points available on site.
