A 90º Planar LEO video wall wraps the lobby of an innovative residential building

The innovative One65 Main residential building, located in Kendall Square (Cambridge – Massachusetts), has opted for technology Planar to attract the attention of visitors and residents, while keeping them informed.

According to David Goldberg, vice president of strategic accounts DGI Communications, the audiovisual integrator of the project, the purpose of the screens was to fulfill a mandate from the city of Cambridge. “To obtain a certificate of occupancy, The city requires new apartment buildings to display public transportation information in a certain way”.
However, during the construction process, The project team encountered an architectural limitation that required a new screen design.
“They asked us to look for alternative solutions and that became an opportunity to change and design something more interesting”, comments Goldberg. “We recommended a solution that worked with the architecture but also had a greater impact on the space. Once the client tried that type of screen, He was willing to follow that path”.
A visual statement
The final installation is located in the lobby and is presented as a Planar TVF Series LEO video wall of almost 2 meters long and 2,5 high (in format 5×4) with a pixel pitch of 1,2 mm (TVF1.2) that envelops an angle of 90 degrees.
