Diversified Creates Interactive Gesture-Based Video Wall for Morton Salt
The headquarters of this American salt producer welcomes visitors and employees with a large interactive LCD video wall, what Diversified customized with sensors Microsoft Kinect, to show the history of the company.
With the goal of “empowering people again and bringing this company back to life”, since Christian Herrmann was appointed executive director of Morton Salt has not stopped in making this project a reality, which began with the transfer of their 350 employees to a new headquarters located in the River Point Tower skyscraper in Chicago (EU).
The new corporate space, of more than 4.800 m2, has an open design, modern and equipped with the latest technology, with ergonomic positions for working standing or sitting, as well as numerous areas to collaborate.
As part of this design, the team of Diversified worked with his creative partner VisionThree to develop a large interactive video wall, in portrait format and personalized with gesture control, that received visitors and employees in a differential manner at the entrance of the company.
This great videowall LCD has been configured with twelve HD screens, which also integrate three motion sensors Microsoft Kinect. From the main menu, and through an elegant, simple and intuitive interface, Visitors and employees can choose to explore Morton Salt's different production methods, watch the latest marketing videos and more.
The entire system has been developed from scratch, how do you explain Jeff White, de VisionThree: "We've never done anything like this.". We spent a month building the gesture controls, because you had to imagine all the ways people point”.
The result of this hard work has been the creation of a unique and visual centerpiece for the modern office.. From the first day the screen was operational, Visitors and employees stopped to interact with the new system as soon as they entered the lobby.
After watching users interact with the video wall and testing it, Herrmann emphasizes that “we are very happy with the system. Everyone who enters the lobby: suppliers, contractors, customers, even new associates, “They are learning the history and what Morton Salt represents in innovative ways.”.
