The digital transformation of the Swedish supermarket Maxi ICA has been carried out with a solution of PPDS, which includes 25 signage screens Philips D-Line (of 86, 75 y 50 inches) and a dvLed L-Line Series video wall 7000 of 16 meters wide.

As part of a major update, the flagship store of the swedish supermarket Maxi ICA Stormarknad University offers a new and immersive digital experience thanks to the 27 digital signage screens Philips managed remotely and videowall of 16 meters wide.

PPDS, Philips professional display supplier, has partnered with Sweden's largest and most popular supermarket chain, Maxi ICA, to offer your flagship store customers a more engaging and inspiring shopping experience. This has been possible thanks to the installation of 27 digital signage screens and a spectacular LED video wall 16 meters wide with direct vision.

Located in Örebro, between Stockholm and Gothenburg, The Maxi ICA Stormarknad Universitetet is one of the most popular outlets in the city and offers a wide range of more than 38.000 items in stock, as household utensils, gardening supplies, clothes, books, toys, media and entertainment, health and beauty, in addition to pharmaceutical products.

Inaugurated in 2015 and belonging to the ICA Group (con 1.300 stores, 8.000 employees and a market share of 36%), the owners wanted to create a modern store concept, attractive and inspiring, that will bring new benefits to daily operations and drive new income. As part of a major digital upgrade initiative, The key was the replacement of its traditional and obsolete static messaging, paper based (mark, marketing and promotions), for a digital alternative that would provide maximum visibility and coherence.

In close collaboration with PPDS and LTG Display, Swedish digital signage and communication software provider, A strategic plan was developed to bring this digital transformation to the store.

Almost all printed signage replaced with Philips digital screens D-Line (75-86 inches), allowing the store to bring its branded content and messaging to life, with creativity only limited by your imagination and with image quality of up to 4K. Connected to the LTG Display POS system, the store can update content instantly and remotely, on an individual screen or collectively.

Besides, Installing Philips digital signage eliminates the worry of outdated promotions being displayed, Ensures staff can focus on their work instead of changing posters daily and eliminates unnecessary paper waste.

A colossal centerpiece

The centerpiece of the store is a Philips direct view LED video wall L-Line Series 7000 of 16×1,73 metros. Defined as the longest dvLED supermarket display in Scandinavia, This installation is visible from any point in the store and offers opportunities to surprise visitors as soon as they enter, while creating an immersive experience that extends throughout the entire establishment.

This large format Led wall is strategically located above a selection of products, equally gigantic, and periodically display attractive content to achieve additional sales.

Designed for retail, the series 7000 Philips provides bright, crystal-clear image and color quality, bringing store marketing to life, while its low power consumption helps Maxi ICA keep running costs to a minimum without affecting performance.

All Philips displays come with the benefits of energy saving features Dynamic y Black screen, that turn off automatically and intelligently when not in use. This helps reduce total cost of ownership, while extending the life of each dvLED panel. FailOver also ensures that Philips screens never go blank, not even in case of blackout.

The implemented solution includes 25 D-Line signage screens: three of 86 inches 86BDL4550D/00, two 75” 75BDL4550D/00 and twenty-two 50” 50BDL4550D/00; plus a Philips Led screen 7000 1.75 series×16 metros. This digital signage infrastructure has allowed us to achieve a series of benefits:
