Airtame turns any connected screen into a mirror, while enabling centralized digital signage functions for entire campuses. The Warren County Public Schools in Kentucky (WCPS) has invested in this collaboration technology to help teachers simplify classwork and increase student engagement.

With financing programs aimed at helping educational centers invest in new technologies, WCPS found it could help teachers simplify classwork and increase student engagement by using the Airtame SaaS platform for screen sharing.

“We have gone from interactive whiteboards located in front of each classroom to televisions with the Airtame platform, which has freed our educators to move around the room while teaching classes wirelessly from mobile devices. This has proven to be much more impactful than standing in front of the room while students use their Chromebooks”, comments Kresslein.

With rooms built with the same technological design, teachers can go to any of them, Connect your laptop or mobile device to the screen and start sharing information. Teachers can even designate a 'Favorite Airtame' which keeps the chosen Airtame and TV at the top of their connections list so there are no complications or barriers to presenting wirelessly..

One of the great advantages of using Airtame is that the platform protects and prioritizes teachers' wireless connections, strengthening your classroom control. Their previous whiteboard solution allowed any wireless device to override teacher connections, which presented an opportunity for students to disrupt lessons and class.

“Thanks to the incorporation of Airtame in each classroom, All Warren County Public Schools televisions are programmed to turn on and off at specific times and during vacation days, so teachers don't have to worry about it. This saves electricity and time, allowing teachers to focus on their lessons and students rather than troubleshooting technological problems or procedures.”.

Unlike independently operated whiteboards, The Airtame platform allows administrators at the school or district level to treat each TV as an endpoint in a consolidated digital signage network.

They can present messages, advertisements, recognition notes and other information in specific classrooms or schools, or throughout the district. Beyond the classroom, This has allowed the school to easily implement digital menu boards for cafeterias, among other usage scenarios.

Spaces with multiple TVs powered by Airtame also offer teachers the option to stream, simultaneously to multiple screens, what was not possible before.

“Student access to wireless sharing is decided at the school level, and Airtame's device-agnostic experience makes connecting a breeze, whether users connect from our Chromebooks or a smaller number of iPads, MacBooks and PCs located in different locations. Having centralized control of the configuration of all devices allows us to quickly perform software updates and identify any problems”, Kresslein says..

It was important that the school's new technology solution be compatible with all existing functions, including annotation apps teachers currently use on their Chromebooks.

Since Airtame wirelessly mirrors the user's entire screen and does not require the use of a specific app or device, Teachers can use content from a wide variety of sources without changing settings or remembering any specific procedures. The new system also eliminates the need for teachers to register.
