Prolights illuminate new SeaWorld attraction
Leviathan is the newest attraction in the park's New Atlantis-themed area SeaWorld. For lighting, they have been used 57 DisplayCOB FC y 8 XL mosaic Prolights.
Prolights, through the design team Show Technology, has been in charge of illuminating the theme park's latest attraction SeaWorld: the roller coaster Leviathan.
This attraction is the centerpiece of the New Atlantis-themed area at the SeaWorld park in New Zealand.. A “wooden tower that takes visitors on a thunderous quest in which they reach speeds of up to 80 km/h, experiencing exhilarating twists, cruces, falls and jumps”, they say from the park.
However, Leviathan isn't just garnering praise for the roller coaster itself, but also for the immersive experience that surrounds those who queue to board the underwater utopia.
Specialists in audiovisual installations Run By Media They spent two years planning the audiovisual integration, over a year to on-site construction and countless hours of work in close collaboration with your design team, Clint Dulieu, de Show Technology, y Toby Sewell, lighting designer, to bring this project to light.
“The entrance caves and charging station complex is beautifully themed and well installed, so it was pretty easy to light”, comment Toby Sewell, the lighting designer in charge of the project. “Consequently, It was a great space and fun to illuminate.”.
To recreate the underwater theme and use a wide palette of aquatic colors, The team decided to rely on Prolights lighting solutions using 57 DisplayCOB FC y 8 Mosaic XL de Prolights.
Los DisplayCOB FC, COB BY 60W full color compact with parabolic reflector, were chosen for the general wash lighting of the space. Thirty were placed at the charging station and the rest were distributed throughout the entrance and exit caves.. To reinforce the underwater theme, blue colors were used.
For architectural lights, the team chose Mosaico XL, an extremely powerful outdoor LED image projector for long-distance texture projection.
“The attraction is themed as an underwater experience, so the color palette is aquamarines and blues, For the best results we relied on Prolights Led image projectors that provided amazing aquatic textures with their shutters., animation wheels and gobos”, explica Sewell.
