Digital Projection equips a virtual studio with its powerful M-Vision lasers
The French rental and staging company Evènement carpetiem has installed laser projectors Digital Projection for your new virtual recording studio and generate additional income.
In the heart of the French Alps, the event scenography company Evènement carpetiem has built a new virtual recording studio, called Studio 321, that uses the M-Vision laser projectors of Digital Projection compared to other technologies, as LED video.
After recently moving to a larger facility, CarpeDiem Evènement took the opportunity to transform an unused space 321 m2 in a virtual studio. State-of-the-art facilities in which to offer AV equipment for brands and companies in the area.
Studio 321 It has a main space for virtual production of the recordings and an adjoining room, of 40 m2, for production. In the first, a white cyclorama wall has been installed in the shape of L, of 24×4 meters with a circular angle of 90° on the ground that offers multiple camera angles, with a immersive visual background.
The floor has been covered in white, which allows this large canvas to be used for the projection of videos and recording of productions of all kinds, from photo shoots and company presentations to demonstrations.
To offer maximum versatility, the project director of CarpeDiem and Studio 321, Andreas Vion-Endresen, opted for Digital Projection video projection technology compared to Led. "Among other things, we organize photo sessions, so we needed a surface that was uniformly white throughout to minimize shadows. This is not possible with an LED screen in the background”.
Another decisive factor was the cost of the screen. “The studio had to be operational every day to handle last-minute requests. Maintain a fixed LED screen 96 m2 in it would have been a very costly investment in terms of energy consumption, not to mention the price of high quality equipment to meet recording requirements”.
To achieve the right visual impact, Those responsible for the study calculated that four video projectors would be needed. CarpeDiem Event trusted two DLP teams from a chip M-Vision Laser 21000 de Digital Projection, whose 21.000 WUXGA brightness and resolution lumens They guarantee an immersive experience for both live and delayed events.
The incorporation of the ColorBoost+Red laser technology In these Digital Projection projectors it also produces a much wider range of colors, allowing for more realistic reproduction of images.
“We already had two M-Vision laser projectors from Digital Projection with image alignment,” Vion-Endresen points out.. After carrying out satisfactory tests with them, we realized that we only needed two more to complete this configuration. The last step was to try to find a way to get them down from the ceiling for easier use at events and quickly reinstall them to maximize profitability.”.
Ceiling Mounted, the four M-Vision lasers project content in superimposed images, in a big screen 24 meters long, via HDBaseT network connection. To save time during reinstallation, is used the automatic recalibration technology Vioso 6, which meant that the studio could be operational in less than an hour.
In the back of the studio, the Vioso multimedia server is located on a PC. 6, mounted on a custom frame, combined with a capture card DataPath 2xHDMI 4K 4:4:4. A plataforma TouchDesigner manages fonts and provides access to a graphical remote control, that outputs signals to M-Vision laser projectors using Vioso calibration technology.
Sweet MAC Aura fixed luminaires of Martin Lighting; four VXC8 ceiling speakers, audio matrix MTX3 and an amplifier XV eight channels, all from the manufacturer Yamaha, complete the installation.
“The time saved thanks to Vioso's automatic calibration tool is the cornerstone of our studio's economic model,” says Vion-Endresen.. We have invested more than 100.000 euros in this installation and using our M-Vision laser projectors one day in the field and the next day in the studio allows us quickly make this investment profitable».
Other advantages of these projectors are their quiet operation, the solid state laser technology and the ability to maintain consistent brightness levels over time. During the trial period, Vion-Endresen compared the lamp source versus laser technology, finally confirming that “the intensity of light does not decrease in laser equipment, regardless of projection time, and they do not require any type of maintenance.”.
Among other applications, This manager highlights that “we use projectors for large screens during conventions, as well as for mapping in buildings, always creating an immersive and captivating experience. These devices are powerful, light and, together with Vioso calibration software, allow us to expand our services, diversify the offer and increase income”.
Jérôme Cadilhac, Digital Projection business development manager, He adds that “I have been working with CarpeDiem Evènement for about ten years and I have seen how the company has grown spectacularly.”. The creation of this study is one more step and I am convinced that our M-Vision will fulfill its new mission perfectly. The projectors are not only robust and of exceptional quality, But their versatility makes them ideal for both indoor and outdoor use.. In combination with Vioso, “The study is a success.”.
