Christie AV solutions help control Mexico's largest refinery
The video walls of Christie installed in the different control rooms of the Olmeca refinery allow you to supervise and monitor oil production, while boardroom display systems optimize communication.
The oldest Mexico oil plant and one of the three largest in Latin America, Olmec, has implemented various Christie solutions in its control rooms and offices, including Led and LCD video walls, processors and a 3DLP projector 30.000 lumens.
The facilities are located in the port of Dos Bocas in the Mexican state of Tabasco and have capacity for 340.000 daily barrels of crude oil processing. The construction land covers a total of 556 hectares. In total, consists of 17 process plants, 56 storage tanks, 34 spheres, workshops, administrative and service buildings and control rooms.
The facility required a main control room to supervise and monitor oil production, Multiple control rooms for surveillance throughout the refinery and meeting rooms to increase communication and productivity. Video walls were essential for displaying scalable content from multiple sources simultaneously, including a wide range of camera feeds, Scada systems from remote sides and productivity KPIs.
“Christie video walls were chosen for their high quality and luminosity, and for the advantage of having a complete control room portfolio with a single brand”, explains Dimas Lopez, general director of Technology Solutions of Mexico (STM), the Christie partner who acted as project integrator.
In the main control room eight videowalls Led de la Serie Core the Christie the 1,4 mm de pixel pitch, and dimensions of 8,5 x 3,2 meters each of them. “These systems stand out for their flexibility and scalability, as well as for its low maintenance”, says Dimas López.
In the tactical room, two videowalls LCD Christie in configuration 4×2 with HD resolution (1.920×1.080) and sub-1 mm bezel.; while another of the control rooms has incorporated a 3-inch LCD×2, also with HD resolution (1.920×1.080) and sub-1mm bezel.
To manage all the video walls have been installed 30 processing nodes the Christie, that allow you to see, Simultaneously listen to and interact with any information source throughout the refinery control rooms.
“These video walls allow the different refinery teams to share critical information in the different control rooms, combining several sources simultaneously to obtain an accurate view of what is happening at all times and make the best decision in the shortest time possible”, explains Dimas López.
On the other hand, in the different meeting rooms of the refinery, 16 LCD panels 86 inches of Christie with 4K UHD resolution; and one of the rooms has a 3DLP projector 30.000 Christie's lumens to show the history of the Olmec civilization.
