He Legislative Palace of Montevideo (Uruguay) It is a Greco-Roman style building, built at the beginning of the 20th century, and the headquarters of the General Assembly -the legislative branch of the Government, which consists of the House of Senators and House of Representatives. The professional audio specialist Sonipro won the competition to design, supply and install a new audio system in the session room of the House of Representatives. He opted for a system KV2 Audio supported by a PreSonus digital mixing console.
“The biggest challenge was to achieve optimal sound quality and intelligibility that the project required without affecting the aesthetics of the room.”, remembers the director of Sonipro, Victor Barsamian. “We were not allowed to change any of the suspension points, as we were working in a listed building and the installation had to be as discreet as possible. KV2 was an obvious choice given the brand's premium sound quality – and I chose the ESD36 for its very high performance, especially in the vocal range, and for its elegant and discreet aesthetics.”
Barsamian opted for four ESD36 three-way speaker systems, fed by the ESP2000D amplifier, which can be configured via the front panel or remotely using the KV2 control and diagnostic tool. And PreSonus StudioLive Series III 32SC digital mixer and a stage box completed the update of the House of Representatives.
Sonipro added a second mixer and a smaller stage box for the parliamentary television channel to ensure the same quality and performance.
“Initially, the specification was six speakers, but the quality, The detail and coverage achieved with just four ESD36s already far exceeded their expectations.”, points out Barsamian. “We achieved a soft and homogeneous sound throughout the auditorium despite being a place with difficult acoustic characteristics due to the high vaulted ceiling., the marble facades and the general cavernous nature of the room”.
