Panasonic prepares for the Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games
As Worldwide Olympic Partner in audio/TV/video equipment, Panasonic will contribute to efficient and sustainable management of events Paris 2024 providing approximately 130 projectors over 20.000 lumens and 500 professional screens.
Panasonic Connect Europe will supply solution AV latest generation, including laser projectors, screens and professional broadcast equipment for Paris Olympic Games 2024, to be held in France 26 from July to 12 of August, and the Paris Paralympic Games 2024, scheduled from 28 from August to 8 September. As a Worldwide Olympic Partner, Worldwide Paralympic Partner and founding member of The Olympic Partner Program (TOP), will collaborate with the International Olympic Committee (COI), the Organizing Committee of the Paris Olympic Games and Olympic Broadcasting Services (OBS) to support event activities.
The Platforma it/ip kairos Panasonic will provide video content to the large format LED screens at almost all competition venues (26 in total), simplifying complex workflows and streamlining operations by producing content for up to three locations through a single Kairos server.
Besides, Remote cameras will be installed in the 29 press rooms and, to consolidate simultaneous interpretation in the main press center (CPP), Translation services will be provided remotely from different locations, which will reduce the need for travel.
Panasonic plans to install 130 laser projectors in the competition venues of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, which represents the largest deployment of this type of equipment in its history. The manufacturer highlights that among them is the most compact and lightest projector in the world, which is a 40% smaller than previous models.
Thanks to Panasonic projection technology, labor saving, the allocation of resources for transportation is reduced, storage and installation, reducing the carbon footprint of the event. Besides, the newly presented Remotely Managed Service of the company will allow operators to manage and monitor multiprojection systems at large scale through the cloud and solve possible image mismatches, caused by factors such as vibrations, without needing to be present on site.
Panasonic has more than 30 years providing audiovisual equipment and services to the Olympic and Paralympic Games, since the Barcelona Olympic Games 1992. Besides, in october 2014 became a Worldwide Paralympic Partner of the International Paralympic Committee, contributing to peace and development of the international community, as well as promoting adapted and Paralympic sports.
Panasonic deployment in Paris 2024:
- Nearly 130 high brightness projectors: The largest deployment of projectors over 20.000 lumens for the production of a sporting event, with some units operated through the Remotley Managed Service.
- Around 500 professions screens.
- Kairos will be present at 26 headquarters. Some regional headquarters use conventional switchers.
- Ramsa professional audio system, clear or enveloping 24 headquarters.
- Some 150 remote and studio camera systems, as well as camera recorders.
