Mira and La Salle Campus Barcelona create an artistic residency at IASLab
The new multisensory laboratory IAS Lab will host the 'Artist in residence' initiative, organized by Mira y The Barcelona Campus Room, that encourages experimentation and collaboration between artists, scientists and technologists.
The digital arts festival Mira y The Room Campus Barcelona, founding member of the Ramon Llull University, have signed an agreement to launch IASLab x Mira – Artist in residence, an artistic residency project that delves into the art intersection, science and technology.
The objective of the program is to invite artists, scientists and technologists to overcome the limits of traditional disciplines, adopting a spirit of innovation and research to imagine what lies ahead for humanity.
The artistic residency is an initiative of Mira and of Master's Degree in Digital Arts and Creative Technologies from La Salle Campus Barcelona, who directs Xavi Bové, whose objective is to emphasize experimental practices, encouraging participants to explore unconventional approaches to creating and designing.
This program will take place during course 24-25 and IASLab, a multisensory laboratory located in The Barcelona Campus Room which will be inaugurated next 24 October.
This space is incorporated into the campus knowledge ecosystem and contributes, with projects like IASLab x Mira – Artist in residence, to the growth of digital arts and creative technologies, areas in which Barcelona has become an international benchmark.
IASlab has virtual and augmented reality laboratories, an immersive room and an anechoic chamber, among other spaces, and is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (Feder) and subsidized by the Department of Research and Universities of the Generalitat of Catalonia.
