Zytronic develops glass buttons with video for use in casinos
The new format of these glass buttons Zytronic They are powered by ZXY500 PCAP controller and custom firmware, offering multiple controls that can be located inside or outside the visual area of the screen.
Zytronic has announced the launch of its solutions transparent glass buttons with video, that are intended for the casino gaming industry.
He ZXY500 PCAP controller from Zytronic and the custom firmware drive these solutions, offering multiple buttons that can be located inside or outside the visual area of the screen, reducing the need for additional mechanical complexity and controllers and offering potential maintenance cost savings.
Floating glass buttons offer numerous advantages over traditional mechanical video button designs, which require drilling into the surface of the glass sensor for mounting. Instead, They are laminated directly over the active touch-sensing area of the button and are actuated via the touch sensor below, making them completely interactive with no moving parts.
They are waterproof and require no maintenance. Improved user experience is evident as audible feedback is provided to touch, combined with the tactile feel of raised buttons. Besides, since the buttons are made of glass, offer greater scratch resistance and durability than plastic.
On a casino button demo unit, Zytronic has mounted two glass buttons directly in the display area without the need for printed borders to hide the electronics or mechanics. Dynamic images are generated across the screen below and around the transparent button by simply changing the graphics on the screen itself.
This provides a more active visual user experience than any other achieved through Traditional RGB LEDs which are normally associated with mechanical buttons.
Zytronic has also created a glass button design for video demonstration where these are located in a transparent glass area outside the display area. Incorporating Omron STP technology with predefined graphics, like the signs “$$$” and the word “PLAY”, extends the innovation to create a holographic type effect both under the button and in the surrounding area.
“This enhanced visual feedback is achieved through the dynamic images of the STP, visible through the clear glass buttons and the clear unprinted area of the glass video button platform.”, explains Andrew Morrison, Zytronic CTO, “providing a visually stunning and interactive button platform gaming environment”.
