Powersoft increases sound power at Hilton Kuala Lumpur hotel

Mezzo amplifiers have been chosen, Duecanali and Quattrocanali Powersoft to become the core’ of the renovation of the new audio infrastructure of these hotel facilities.

The Grand Ballroom and the Junior Ballroom of the Kuala Lumpur Hilton hotel, as well as meeting rooms, provide their guests with high-quality audio thanks to the Duecanali amplifiers, Quattrocanali y Mezzo by Powersoft.

Located in the transportation hub of the capital of Malaysia, in the Kuala Lumpur Sentral area, This hotel center wanted to renew the sound system to optimize its clarity and quality in the recently renovated spaces.

After obtaining the tender, Concept Audio chose Mezzo amplifiers, Powersoft's Duecanali and Quattrocanali to play a central role in audio renewal, selected to meet the diverse requirements of each location within the hotel.

“We chose Powersoft given their flexibility and improved amplifier efficiency, as well as the perfect integration they provide”, states Castrit Lim Lit Seong, CEO of Concept Audio.

Seong and his team renovated several areas of the Hilton hotel, including the Great Hall of 565 square meters, the junior lounge and meeting rooms, with the aim of providing clear and crisp audio quality.

“The integration within the rooms was carried out separately”, explain Castrit. “We trust in three Duecanali 1604 DSP+D de Powersoft, a Quattrocanali 1204 DSP+D and a Duecanali 804 DSP+D to power the Great Hall”.

Powersoft's Duecanali and Quattrocanali series amplifiers offer remarkably low power consumption and heat dissipation in a compact and lightweight unit, making it perfect for medium-scale installations where system flexibility is a necessity.

In the Junior Ballroom, used for team building activities or small meetings, Seong and his team installed four Mezzo 602AD; while the Hilton meeting room is powered by a Mezzo 322 AD.

Powersoft's Mezzo Series offers reliability and the same build quality in a half-rack unit form factor, and AD versions of Mezzo add audio networking capabilities with Dante/AES67 and an internal Gigabit Ethernet switch with a second port so multiple products can share the same network.

Along with the Powersoft amplifiers in the Grand Ballroom there are 18 Tannoy CMS 1201DCT, 16 Tannoy CMS 503IC, six Tannoy CMS 503ICT and four Tannoy CVS ceiling speakers 4.

In the Junior Ballroom, Concept Audio also installed 12 Tannoy CMS 803DC BM ceiling speakers and 10 Tannoy CMS 503ICT. Mezzo powers ten Tannoy CMS 803DC BM ceiling speakers in the meeting room.

According to Seong, flexible output capabilities of amplifier platforms allowed a reduction in the number of units required, resulting in cost savings.

“Mezzo amplifiers offer the versatility to seamlessly convert analog inputs to network audio, eliminating the need for additional network audio input hardware”, Castrit clarifies. This streamlined approach not only improves efficiency, but also simplifies the installation process, ensuring a seamless, high-quality sound experience for all users.

The installation process was simple, and Powersoft amplifiers were easily integrated with ceiling speakers in several rooms within the hotel.
