The Yacht Club of Monaco renews its acoustics with K-Array solutions

To update the sound system of the different rooms that make up the Yacht Club, has opted for professional solutions from K-Array. Equipment that remains invisible after assembly, while providing high performance.

He Monaco Yacht Club (YCM) needed a complete system that would provide high-performance sound in different spaces. The Italian manufacturer of K-array professional audio solutions was chosen to respond to this challenge and BM Service was the company in charge of providing the equipment.

Founded in 1953 by Prince Rainier III and presided over since 1984 by Prince Albert II, The Yacht Club de Monaco combines a taste for sport and a love for the sea. Con 2.500 members, attracts shipowners, sailors and yacht lovers from all over the world.

This prestigious building, reminiscent of a high-tech yacht, was built with a HEQ approach (high environmental quality) that reflects the spirit of the club: “open to the world, innovative and concerned with both aesthetics and respect for the environment”.

“Everything had to be invisible, elegant and at the same time high performance, the usual K-array values”, explains Alberto Gaetti, K-array Product Support Specialist. “Our speakers were previously installed on the club's rooftop terrace, so the client was already satisfied with our solutions. The next step was to expand the audio system to other key spaces, including indoor and outdoor reception spaces, a meeting room and a pool area”.

The club maintains a strong commitment to sustainability, using only the highest quality sustainable materials to ensure the longevity of the building and its interiors.

Made of stainless steel and aluminum, K-array speakers embody the same principles, making the brand a suitable choice for the Yacht Club de Monaco.

The existing Rooftop Bar system included six Python-KP102 I and four Python-KP52 I loudspeakers., which provided a clear and powerful sound. Besides, Four Thunder-KS2P subwoofers ensured deep bass response. All of them powered by a Kommander-KA208 amplifier.

This had already demonstrated its ability to maintain a high sound pressure level in a small space., while significantly reducing the sound level outside, so an implementation of K-array products was carried out throughout the club.

Aquarama Riva Bar

El Aquarama Riva Bar, offering uninterrupted views of the harbor and the Rock of Monaco, is located on the deck 5 of the club. Here, The client needed a system that would be used primarily for background music, with the ability to also provide audio for parties or occasional presentations.

This area has two units Kobra-KK52 I blank, famous for their slim, half-meter-long format and powerful sound projection.

As a complement, two speakers have been installed Domino-KF26 full range, also in white. For low frequencies, a subwoofer is included Rumble-KU210.

The speakers have been installed with K-array's own mounting hardware to ensure optional sound coverage throughout the space.

For members looking for a cozy and intimate environment, The Cigar Lounge offers a private space with a relaxing atmosphere. Four have been installed here Lyzard-KZ1 compact in white and a subwoofer Rumble-KU44W-2 I. The Lyzard, an ultramini point source speaker, integrates perfectly into the aesthetics of the room.

Restoration areas

The selection of hospitality spaces at the Yacht Club de Monaco extends to the prestigious restaurant 1909, strictly reserved for club members and their guests.

To offer a refined dining experience accompanied by panoramic views of the YCM Marina, six speakers Kobra-KK52W and eight Tornado-KT2, in addition to a total of 10 subwoofers Rumble-KU44 I, provide high quality ambient sound. White finishes on all speakers ensure the technology remains discreet.

At the Sunrise restaurant, outdoors, background music and party reinforcement were needed.

“A combination of 11 Domino series speakers with special marine finishes to provide a reliable sound system that will withstand the elements all year round”, remember Gaetti. “Although they are powerful speakers, suitable for both parties and background music, “The depth of the boxes is small enough to be neatly integrated into a high-end space without interruption.”.

A similar system was also integrated, composed of weather-resistant Domino and Tornado speakers, an electric sports bar.

The ballroom of the Yacht Club of Monaco, focal point of high-level club parties, was integrated with a high-performance system composed of two systems Pinnacle-KR102, and Pinnacle-KR202 and two Pinnacle-KR402. These lightweight, portable systems provide a comprehensive sound solution.
